25、arried out according to prEN 13183-1 or prEN 131B2. The reference moisture content is 20 %. 6 Change in size due to changes in moisture content Unies there is evidence to the contrary, it is assumed that the thickness and width of a piece of timber will increase by 0,25 % for every 1 % of moisture c

26、ontent higher than 20 % up to 30 %, and wiii decrease by 0,25 % for every 1 % of moisture content lower than 20 %. The above values are independent of the species. 6 Permitted deviations For a specifed number of pieces of hardwood sawn timber of the same target thickness andor width, the average thi

27、ckness andor width shall not be les than the target thickness andor widh. If the timber is for structural use, the permitted deviations shall be those specified in EN 336. The permitted deviations, at a moisture content of 20 %, are the foliowing. 6.1 On thicknesses (t) t 32mm: -lm, +3m1 t32mm: -2mm

35、process and the product. The figures in Table NA1 have been established in the United Kingdom as being economic, workable and not wasteful. NA.2 Reductions The recommended reductions appropriate to some end uses and products appear in Table NA.1. Any finished sizes in British Standards covering part

36、icular hardwood products and components will take precedence over those in Table NA1. For other end uses not specifically mentioned, the same figures as those for one of the end uses listed may be adopted. intermediate figures would be unlikely to achieve any greater accuracy and would tend to confu

37、se. If the timber is for structurai use, the reduction hits specified in BS 6766 apply.
