Thecharacteristicsofinstrumentscanvaryaccordingtotheirmeasuringandsignalprocessingprinciples, theirconstruction,andthewayinwhichthey

21、areused.Itisimportantthattheuserscomparethequalityof theinstrumentsavailableinthemarketatanygiventimeandacheckismadethattheyconformtothe requirementsofthisEuropeanStandard. 1 Scope ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiesthemaincharacteristicsofairvelocitymeasuringdevices.Thisincludes requirementsforthermalvel

22、ocityprobes,recalibrationandthesignalprocessingofmeasurementsina ventilatedspace,includingthoseintheairjetandintheoccupiedzone.Othertypesofvelocitymeasuring devicesshouldfulfiltheperformanceparametersstatedbutappropriatecalibrationtechniquesshouldnot necessarilybeusedwhicharedescribedinthisstandard.

39、standarddeviationratioofbetween0,9and1,1(seeFigure3). 6.3Directionalsensitivity Theextremesofinstrumentdirectionalsensitivityaredescribedasfollows: Aunidirectionalprobehasasensorwhichhasastrongdirectionalsensitivityanddoesnotrespondtoflows inalldirections. Anomnidirectionalprobewillrespondtoflowfrom

40、virtuallyanydirection. Thedirectionalsensitivityisinvestigatedbymeasuringthevelocityasafunctionofangleofattackandthe investigationiscarriedoutasdescribedbelow. Therollcharacteristicsareobtainedbyrotationoftheprobeaboutthestemaxis(seeFigure4). Theyawcharacteristicsareobtainedbytiltingthestemaxisoftheprobeaboutitscentre(seeFigure5). Boththerollandyawcharacteristicsoftheprobesshallbespecified.
