32、esoftheconcretetestspecimenstopreventpenetrationofwater intotheconcrete. 6 Preparationoftestspecimens Threeconcretetestspecimens(see5.3)arerequiredforeachtest,withoneservingasareferencespecimen.Prior toapplicationofthesurfaceprotectionsystem,allmaterialsshallbestoredinthestandardlaboratoryclimate(se
33、e 5.1)foratleast24h.Thesurfaceprotectionsystemshallbeappliedtotheconcretetestspecimensinaccordance withmanufacturersinstructionsatthestandardlaboratoryclimate(see5.1)orsuchalternativeenvironmentsas maybespecifiedfortheintendeduse. Afterapplicationofthesurfaceprotectionsystem,thesamplesshallbecuredin
34、accordancewiththerequirements ofannexA. Beforestartingthetest,allsurfacesofthespecimensexceptthe300mmx300mmtestfaceshallbecoatedwith thermosettingresin(see5.8)topreventpenetrationofliquidintothesideandrearoftheconcretetestspecimen duringthetest,allowingfullcureoftheresininaccordancewiththerequiremen
35、tsforPCgiveninannexA. 7Procedure Aftercompletingthepreparation,thermalcyclingshallthenbecarriedoutbyoneofthefollowingmethods: a) manualcyclingusingthecooler,waterbathandoven(see5.6),whichisthereferencemethod; b) inaprogrammableclimaticcabinet(see5.7). Twoofthepreparedconcretetestspecimensareusedfort
36、hethermalcycling,withthethirdspecimenkeptinthe standardlaboratoryclimate(see5.1)forthedurationofthetestasacontrol. 7.1 Thermalcyclingreferencemethod Thermalcyclingtakesplacebymanualtransferofthetestspecimensbetweentheclimaticcabinets(see5.6).In eachoftheclimaticcabinetstheslabsarepositionedupright,w
37、ithadistanceofatleast100mmbetweentheslabs andofatleast50mmfromtheslabstothewalls. Thetestspecimensshallbesubjectedtothefollowingtestcycle,withonecyclelastingfor24h: 2hwaterstorageat(212)C; 4hstorageinairat(152)C; 2hwaterstorageat(212)C; 16hstorageinairat(602)C. Duringaninterruptionofthecyclestorage,
