16、certainclimaticandenvironmentalconditionsmicrofungicansettleonandcolonisethesurfaceof textileproductsandcanpossiblydeterioratethem. Thetestsandtestconditionsspecifiedinthisstandardareempiricalandcovermostbutnotallpotential applications. Theactionsofmicrofungiontextilesarequitedifferent: a) Directact

17、ion:deteriorationofthetextileproductwhichserveasanutritivesubstanceforthegrowthofthe microfungi; b) Indirectaction:influenceofmetabolicproductsofthemicrofungi,e.g.discolourationorbiochemical deterioration. 18、846:1997“PlasticsEvaluationoftheactionofmicroorganisms“and IEC68210:1988“Basicenvironmentaltestingprocedures,Part2:TestJ,Mouldgrowth“.EN14119:2003(E) 5 1Scope ThisEuropeanStandardspecifiesmethodsfordeterminingtheresistanceoftextilestotheactionof microfungi.Theresultsofthetestsareevaluatedbyvisualexa

19、minationandbymeasuringthephysical propertiesofthetextiles.Thesetestsareapplicabletoalltextileproducts,includingcellulosicormanmade fibretextiles(seeannexA). 2 Normativereferences ThisEuropeanStandardincorporates,bydatedorundatedreference,provisionsfromotherpublications. 25、N14119:2003(E) 6 5Principle 5.1General Thetestsinvolveexposingtestspecimensoftextilestotheactionofselectedteststrainsofmicrofungifor specifiedoragreedperiodsunderspecifiedtemperatureandhumidity. Attheendoftheexposure,thetestspecimensareassessedbeforeand/oraftercleaningbyvisual examinationand/orchang

26、einphysicalproperties,e.g.tensilestrength. Theresultsofthetestspecimensexposedtobiologicalattackarecomparedwithunexposedspecimens. Briefdescriptionsofeachmethodaregivenin5.2to5.5. 5.2 MethodA1:Fungalgrowthtestonincompleteagarmedium Thetestspecimensareexposedonanincompletenutritivemedium(agarmediumwi

27、thoutacarbonsource)to astandardizedmixedsporesuspensionofthetestfungi.Thetestfungicanonlygrowattheexpenseofthe material.Thestandardcontainsfungifortestingcelluloseorcellulosecontainingtextiles.Theinfluenceofthe testfungiisevaluatedbygrowthratingandtensilestrengthevaluation. 5.3 MethodA2:Fungalgrowth

28、testinamoistchamber Thetestspecimensareinoculatedwithastandardizedmixedsporesuspensionandexposedinaneartothe practicetest(moistchambertest)todeterminetheinfluenceofthetestfungi.Testfungiareproposedfor celluloseorcellulosecontainingtextiles.Theinfluenceofthefungiisevaluatedbygrowthratingandbytensile

29、strengthevaluation. 5.4 MethodB1:Fungalgrowthtestonacompleteagarmedium Thetestspecimensareexposedonacompletenutritivemedium(agarmediumwithacarbonsource)toa standardizedmixedsporesuspensionofthetestfungi.Thetestfungicangrowontheagarmediumandon thetextile,ifthetextileisnotprotectedagainstfungalgrowth.

30、Thestandardcontainsfungifortestingcellulose orcellulosecontainingtextiles.Theinfluenceofthetestfungiisevaluatedbygrowthrating(determinationof theantimycoticeffect)andbytensilestrengthevaluation(determinationoftheresistanceofthetextileagainst biodeterioration). 5.5 Antimycoticeffectofatextilematerial

34、sonofdifferentfinishings.EN14119:2003(E) 7 5.6 Choiceofpropertiesforassessment Avisualexaminationofthebiologicalattack,thefungalgrowthorformationofaninhibitionzoneagainstthe testfungishouldalwaysbemadeasthefirststageinassessingtheresistanceofa textile. Tensilestrengthevaluationallowsthedetermination

35、oftheresistanceofatextileagainstmicrofungi.Tensile strengthtestsarenecessaryfortestingtheresistanceofcellulosictextiles.
