21、11-1999 3 1 Scope and field of application The present standard defines the particular requirements for bar and section in aluminium and aluminium alloys produced by extrusion, drawing or rolling. This standard shall be used in conjunction with EN2070-1. 2 References EN 2002-1, Aerospace series Test

25、r, however, the following requirements shall be observed: Die quenching is permissible only when agreed in writing between the manufacturer and purchaser. The use of bridge die process is only permissible when agreed in writing between the manufacturer and purchaser. 4 Batch size SeeTable 1. Table 1

26、 5 Dimensions Dimensions and tolerances shall conform to the relevant semi-finished product standard or drawing. The frequency of examination shall be sufficient to permit the manufacturer to certify compliance with the requirements. 6 Internal defects When specified in the order or inspection sched

27、ule the products after solution treatment shall be ultrasonically tested in accordance with EN2004-2 and unless otherwise specified the acceptance criteria shall be class A. 7 External defects 7.1 Unless otherwise specified on the order or the inspection schedule, the surface quality of all products

28、 shall be determined by visual examination in accordance withTable 2. The frequency of examination shall be sufficient to permit the manufacturer to certify compliance with the requirements ofTable 2. 1) In preparation Temper a O, F, H. T. Bars shall be free from laps and cracks. 7.3 The surface roughness of the extruded section s

30、hall be measured perpendicular to the fibre direction. The readings shall meet the following requirements: Ra k 3,2 4m for section k 650 mm 2 Ra k 6,3 4m for section 650 mm 2 . 33、llimetersEN2070-3:1989 BSI 11-1999 5 8.1.1.2 Transverse test When this test is specified in the material standard the test specimen shall be selected as in the Annex A,Figure 6 toFigure 9. 8.1.2 Section 8.1.2.1 Longitudinal test For sections whose minor dimension in the thickest part are: k 40mm, se

34、eAnnex A,Figure 10, 40mm, seeAnnex A,Figure 11. 8.1.2.2 Transverse test When this test is specified in the material standard the location of the test specimen shall be defined by the purchaser. 8.2 Test method and definition of test piece Tensile tests shall conform to the requirements of EN2002-1.

35、For products with a thickness k 10mm, test specimens having a rectangular cross section and thickness equal to that of the product shall be used. Tests on thicker products shall be performed on proportional round test pieces of the form and one of the sizes indicated in EN2002-1. 8.3 Frequency SeeTa

36、ble 7. 8.4 Test results Unless otherwise specified on the order or in the inspection schedule, the test results shall be in conformity with the relevant material standard. 9 Batch uniformity Products supplied in the T.-condition shall be subject to either electrical conductivity measurement or hardn

37、ess testing. The method used shall be at the discretion of the manufacturer unless a specific method is specified by the purchaser. 9.1 Electrical conductivity measurement The conductivity measurement shall be carried out in accordance with EN2004-1. The values obtained shall conform with the requir

38、ements of the material standards and the maximumvariations shall be as follows If no values are stated in the material standard, the electrical conductivity shall demonstrate that the material has been properly heat treated and the above mentioned maximum variations shall apply. Measurement shall be

39、 applied to the following products: The number and position of measurements and sampling are given inTable 4. Table 4 k 1 MS/m per product, % k 1,5 MS/m per batch. Bar: with circular cross section having a diameter U 30mm, with square cross section having a sideU 25mm, with rectangular cross section

40、 having a widthU 25mm. Section: If their shape and dimensions make such measurement possible. 42、 product shall be hardness tested provided their shape and dimensions make such measurement possible. Testing shall be in accordance with EN2002-7. The number and location of measurements per product shall be: length k 4,5m: one end, length 4,5m: both ends. The values obtained shall conform with any

43、 values specified in the material standard. The product of lowest hardness shall be selected for the tensile test. 10 Back end defect and peripheral coarse grain zone Unless otherwise agreed, the back end of every extruded length shall be macrographically examined with respect to back end defects an

44、d, if required by the material standard, peripheral coarse grain. The “capability clause” may be applied to these requirements with the agreement of the purchaser. The maximum thickness of peripheral coarse grain zone for bar and regular solid section shall be in accordance withTable 5, level A or B

45、 as specified by the material standard. 46、transverse section sample that has been solution heat treated in accordance with the material standard, suitably prepared and chemically etched. The choice of the etchant used to reveal the structure is left to the discretion of the manufacturer. Peripheral coarse grain thickness measurement on bar

47、and regular solid section shall be made perpendicular to and at the centre of the major dimensional face. Unless otherwise specified, measurement of thickness of peripheral coarse grain zone at corners of bar and section is not required. For hollow or complex sections the thickness of peripheral coa

48、rse grain zone shall be determined when specified on the order, drawing or inspection schedule and shall conform with limits agreed between manufacturer and purchaser. 11 Stress corrosion testing Stress corrosion testing shall be carried out in accordance with the requirements of EN2004-4 and the va

49、lues obtained shall conform with the requirements of the material standard. The frequency of testing shall be on a capability basis. The orientation of the testing and the location of the test sample shall be specified in the material standard, the order, drawing or inspection schedule. Unless otherwise specified on the order, drawing or inspection schedule the resistance to stress corrosion shall be demonstrated on a routine basis once on each batch by measurement of the electrical conductivit
