18、 _ EN 60512-14-6:2006 2 3 EN 60512-14-6:2006 CONNECTORS FOR ELECTRONIC EQUIPMENT TESTS AND MEASUREMENTS Part 14-6: Sealing tests Test 14f: Interfacial sealing 1 Scope and object This part of IEC 60512, when required by the detail specification, is used for testing connectors. It may also be used for
19、 similar devices when specified in a detail specification. It is particularly, but not exclusively, suitable for connectors with removable contacts. The object of this document is to detail a standard test method to assess the effectiveness of the interfacial sealing of a connector against ingress o
20、f water by exposure to low pressure whilst immersed in a salt solution. It is intended to assess the effectiveness of the interfacial sealing means of connectors. Further, if any wires or contacts are not fitted, it assesses the sealing of one cavity of a connector from another. 2 Normative referenc

24、ngress of moisture or contaminants IEV 581-07-22 4 Preparation 4.1 Preparation of the specimen The specimen shall consist of a mated pair of connectors with their terminations, wired as specified in the detail specification. One corresponding contact cavity in each half of the connector shall not be
25、 fitted with a contact, nor shall its wiring hole be fitted with a filler plug. Other non-wired holes shall be fitted with filler plugs. In the case of connectors in which the wire connection zone is not protected, (for example, solder contacts), a means of protection shall be arranged simulating th
26、at described in the previous sentence. 4.2 Equipment As specified in IEC 60512-14-5. 4.3 Lubricant or sealing substance If the detail specification so requires, the specified lubricant or sealing substance shall be applied in the manner given in the detail specification. 4.4 Mounting If mounting of
27、the specimen is appropriate, it shall be as specified in the detail specification. 5 Method and measurements As specified in IEC 60512-14-5. 6 Details to be specified When this test is required by a detail specification, the following shall be given therein: NOTE 1 These details may differ from thos
28、e specified for testing under IEC 60512-14-5. a) preconditioning, if required; b) wiring of the specimen; including wire/cable size and type; c) sealant and/or lubricant to be applied, means and quantity; or state Sealant and/or lubricant not required; d) minimum value of insulation resistance (afte
