16、t This part of IEC 60512, when required by the detail specification, is used for testing connectors within the scope of technical committee 48. It may also be used for similar devices when specified in a detail specification. The object of this document is to detail a standard test method to assess

17、the ability of a connector cover and its attachment to withstand mechanical stresses. NOTE Such a cover may be protective in any sense. 2 Normative references The following referenced documents are indispensable for the application of this document. Any preconditioning given in the detail specification shall be applied. 3.2 Equipment For the application of the loads, a suitable device able to provide the controls on the loads (intensity, rate of increase, time of constan

20、t load application) shall be required (e.g.: a universal materials testing machine). NOTE If the detail specification requires special preconditioning of the specimen, all the necessary equipment detailed in the relevant documents describing such conditioning would also be required. 3.3 Mounting If

21、mounting of the specimen is appropriate, it shall be as specified in the detail specification. 4 Test method Unless otherwise stated in the detail specification, 3 connectors shall be tested. BS EN 60512-15-7:2008 3 4.1 Procedure The specified force shall be applied in the direction of the normal re

The specified force shall then be applied perpendicular to the normal removal axis of the cover. This shall be done in four directions in the same plane, mutually at right angles to each other. In

23、 the case of screwed caps only, one such force shall be applied. In some designs there may be a disadvantageous or worst case direction for the application of this force. If so at least one of the four directions shall be in this direction. The load shall be applied at a rate of 25 mm/min. The maxim

The force shall then be removed. 4.2 Measurements 4.2.1 Before testing Visual examination according to IEC 60512-1-1 shall be done. 4.2.2 During testing No malfunction of the cover or its attachment system shall occur. 4.2.3 After testing Visual examination ac
