6、:1990ii BSI 2006National forewordThis Section of BS 4533 has been prepared under the direction of the Electrical Illumination Standards Policy Committee and is the English language version of EN 60 598-2-19 including amendment A2:1998 and CorrigendumDecember 2005, published by the European Committee

7、 for Electrotechnical Standardization (CENELEC). It was derived by that organization from IECPublication 598-2-19 (1981) edition 1, with amendment No 1 (1987) andNo2(1997), which has a similar title as that of the European Standard. This Section of BS 4533 supersedes BS 4533-102.19:1982 which is wit

8、hdrawn.The CENELEC Common Modifications have been implemented at the appropriate places in the text of IEC Publication 598-2-19 (1981) edition 1, into which Amendment No 1 (1987) has been incorporated, and are indicated by a sideline in the margin. The foreword and preface of IEC Publication 598-2-1

9、9 (1981) edition 1, the preface of Amendment No 1 (1987), and the deleted parts of the original IEC text which do not form part of the text of EN 60 598-2-19 have been quoted in National appendix NA. Annexes designated “normative” are part of the body of the standard. Annexes designated “informative

National appendices are designated “informative”.In 19.1, 19.2, 19.12 and 19.13 where the words “section of Part 2 of IECPublication 598”, “section of Part 2” and “section of Publication 598-2” appear they should be read as “section of BS 4533”. 33、inaires for use with a ventilation duct or ventilated space (plenum), for use with tubular fluorescent lamps on supply voltages not exceeding1000V. It is to be read in conjunction with those sections of Part1 to which reference is made.Attention is drawn to the fact that this section specifies only

34、the safety aspects of air-handling luminaires; no requirements are specified at present for performance aspects.NOTE 1The expressions “ventilation” and “ventilated” in this section refer to forced ventilation.NOTE 2No requirements are specified at present in this section for the use of tungsten fila

35、ment lamps and discharge lamps other than tubular fluorescent lamps.19.2 General test requirementsThe provisions of Section 0of IECPublication598-1: Luminaires, Part1: General Requirements and Tests, apply. The tests described in each appropriate section of Part 1 shall be carried out in the order l

36、isted in this section of Part2.19.3 DefinitionsFor the purposes of this section, the definitions of Section 1of Publication598-1 apply together with the following definitions:1) Air-handling luminaireA luminaire specially designed for use in association with an air conditioning system.NOTEThe air ma

37、y pass either through the lamp chamber or through separate passages.2) Static operationOperation of a luminaire when not handling either forced supply or extract air but permitting convection.19.4 Classification of luminairesThe provisions of Section 2of Publication598-1 apply, except that air-handl

38、ing luminaires shall be of Class I, Class II, or Class III only.19.5 MarkingThe provisions of Section 3of Publication 598-1 apply, together with the requirements ofSub-clauses19.5.1 to 19.5.4.19.5.1 Recessed air-handling luminaires which are not markedwith thesymbol shall have a warning notice on an

39、 attached label, or given in the manufacturers instruction leaflet supplied with the luminaire, that no part of the outer surface of the luminaire within the recess is suitable for mounting within 25mm of normally flammable material.19.5.2 For air-handling luminaires marked with the symbol, the type

40、 of construction of the luminaire shall be indicated. This information shall be marked on the luminaire or given in the manufacturers instruction leaflet, and shall consist of one or both of the following wordings:“For connection to ventilation duct”.“For use in ventilated space”.Where attachments a

41、re added to luminaires designed for use in ventilated space to make them suitable for use with ventilation ducts, these attachments shall be marked with the words:“For connection to ventilation duct”.19.5.3 The “special conditions” referred to inSub-clause3.3.6 of Section 3 of Publication598-1 shall

42、 include the following:a) Minimum permissible space between the body of the luminaire and normally flammable parts of the building structure if the luminaire is not marked with thesymbol.b) Type of usage, for example, “for use in ventilated space”.19.5.4 For an explanation of the significance of ta

43、as applied to air-handling luminaires(see Appendix A).19.6 ConstructionThe provisions of Section 4of Publication 598-1 apply together with the requirements ofSub-clauses 19.6.1 to 19.6.3.19.6.1 For recessed parts, the impact energy and spring compression required for the test specified in Clause 4.1

44、3 of Section 4of Publication 598-1 shall be as given in Table I of this section.EN60589-2-19:19894 BSI 2006 Table I Impact energy and spring compression19.6.2 If, in order to obviate fire hazard, the luminaire is manufactured with spacers or similar devices to ensure a certain minimum clearance from

45、 some part of the building structure, these devices shall be fixed in such a manner that they cannot be removed without damaging the luminaire or making it impossible for it to be properly installed. This requirement does not apply to spacers provided only for constructional reasons and which have n

46、o influence on safety.19.6.3 The requirements for the direct mounting of luminaires on normally flammable surfaces, that is, luminaires marked with thesymbol(seeSub-clause 4.16.1 of Section 4of Publication598-1), do not apply to holes for forced ventilation. For air-handling luminaires with boots (a

47、ir terminal devices) the surfaces of the boots are tested as part of the surface of the luminaire.19.7 Creepage distances and clearancesThe provisions of Section 11ofPublication598-1 apply.19.8 Provision for earthingThe provisions of Section 7ofPublication 598-1 apply.19.9 TerminalsThe provisions of

48、 Sections 14 and 15of Publication598-1 apply.19.10 External and internal wiringThe provisions of Section 5of Publication 598-1 apply, together with the requirements ofSub-clause 19.10.1.19.10.1 Flexible cables and cords used as a means of connection to the supply, when supplied by the luminaire manu

49、facturer, shall be at least equal in their mechanical and electrical properties to those specified in Harmonization Documents HD 21 S2 and HD 22 S2 and shall be capable of withstanding without deterioration the highest temperature to which they may be exposed under normal conditions of use.Compliance shall be checked by the tests ofSub-clause 19.12.NOTEFlexible cables and cords are used with recessedair-handling luminaires for the following reasons: a) The flexible cable or cord cannot be easily touched and is out of reach within th
