17、art of International Standard IEC 774 (second edition) applies to magnetic video recording on 12,65 mm (0,5 in) wide tape using the wide band VHS recording system. The basic S-VHS video cassette and the compact S-VHS video cassette are defined as well as the necessary parameters and characteristics
18、for the recordings. The requirements relate to the 525 line-60 field and 625 line-50 field TV systems. Equipment manufactured according to this part of IEC 774 and tapes recorded following this part provide the necessary interchangeability of recorded video cassettes. 1.2 Normative references The fo

28、VIDEO CASSETTES 4.1 Dimensions of magnetic tape Regarding the dimensions of magnetic tape, IEC 774-1 shall apply. 4.2 Magnetic tape properties 4.2.1 Coercivity The coercivity shall be approximately 70 x lo3 Nm. 4.2.2 Others Regarding other items such as type of magnetic tape, and magnetic orientatio
29、n, IEC 774-1 shall apply. 4.3 Reference tape The reference tape numbered SRT-1 is applicable. Details are described later in annex A. 4.4 RF recording current characteristics The optimum recording current shall be within 110 % with reference to the standard recording current. The standard recording
30、current is defined at 6,5 MHz as the value which is necessary to obtain the maximum output signal level for the reference tape SRT-1. 4.5 RF playback output When 6.5 MHz sine wave is recorded with standard recording current and the output of the frequency sine wave is measured, it should be as follo
31、ws with respect to the RF playback output of the reference tape. IEC 774-1 shall apply. 5.3.2 Others Regarding other items such as switching position, video signal overlap, and the relation- ship between the video track and the video signal field, IEC 774-1 shall apply. 35、S 6.1 6.1 .1 The luminance signal shall be sub pre-emphasized and main pre-emphasized. The characteristics of the sub pre-emphasis are shown in table 3. Dark clipping level: (-70 I 10) % measured from sync tip. 6.1.3 Modulation characteristics FM carrier frequencies corresponding to reference video levels shall be as shown in the following table 1. 38、ine-50 field The FM carrier shall be interleaved in the EP mode for 525 line-60 field, and in both of the SP and the LP modes for 625 line-50 field. In these modes, the FM carrier frequency recorded by the channel-1 video head shall be fh/2 higher than that of channel-2. (For 525 line-60 field, fh=1
39、5,734 kHz, and for 625 line-50 field, fh=15,625 kHz.) 6.1.4 Recording level The recording current shall have the optimum value at all frequencies within the entire FM carrier range, as defined in table 1. NOTE - Optimum recording current is the recording current value which is necessary to obtain th
40、e maximum output signai level during playback. 6.2 525 line-60 field chrominance signal recording Regarding all items except those stated below, IEC 774-1 shall apply. 6.2.1 The amplitude of the converted luminance recording signal located in the vicinity of 1.2 MHz shall be attenuated by more than
41、20 dB below the chrominance reference signal level. 42、ording level The chrominance signal is recorded with the FM signal acting as bias. Its recording level shall be set so that the playback levei of spurious components at frequency $-2fc is 20 dB to 25 dB below the output level at frequency fy. fy: Centre carrier frequency of luminance signal (6,5 MHz
43、). f,: Converted chrominance sub-carrier frequency. 6.3 625 Ilne-50 field chrominance signal recording These recording processes are illustrated in figure 4. Regarding all items except those stated below, IEC 774-1 shall apply. 6.3.1 Recording level The chrominance signal is recorded with the FM sig
44、nal acting as bias. Its recording level shall be set so that the playback level of spurious components at frequency fh-2fc is 20 dB to 25 dB below the output level at frequency fy. fy: Centre carrier frequency of luminance signal (6.5 MHz). fc: Converted chrominance sub-carrier frequency. 6.3.2 Pilo
45、t burst signal The following type of pilot burst signal shall be added to the recording chrominance signal: Frequency: same frequency as the converted chrominance sub-carrier. Level: O Yo to +20 Oh with respect to the colour burst signal level. Burst length : Position: 2,26 ps f 0,23 ps. 0,8 ps f 0,
46、3 ps from leading edge of the horizontal sync signal to the burst start. Phase: 1) when the high frequency luminance signal is combined with the converted chrominance signal, the pilot burst signal phase shall be 90“ * 10“ with respect to the U axis of the input signal; 2) when the luminance recordi
47、ng signal which is converted to the 1,2 MHz area is attenuated by more than 20 dB with reference to the chrominance signal, the phase shall be 270“ i 10“. 6.3.3 In order not to interfere with the pilot burst signal phase, the phase switching shall perform at a position corresponding to the front por

49、chrominance channel shall be attenuated by more than 20 dB. NOTE - Before recording, the chrominance signal and the luminance signal are extracted from the input video composite signal. Following this extraction the chrominance signal may contain some residual signals of luminance as spurious signals which affect the picture quality in playing back. These disturbances occur mainly when the frequencies of the spurious signals are located in the 3,8 MHr region which corresponds to the end of the lower sideband of the subcarrier. 6.4 Audio signal recording Regarding the lon
