21、BRE OPTIC PASSIVE COMPONENTS AND CABLE ASSEMBLIES - Part 1 : Capability approval - Generic specification 1 General 1.1 Scope This specification applies to fibre optic passive components and cable assemblies for delivery under the capability approval procedure. It includes: - component and cable asse

22、mbly requirements; - quality assessment procedures. 1.2 Normative references The following normative documents contain provisions which, throu$h reference in this text, constitute provisions of this specification. At the time of publication, the editions indicated were valid. All standards are subje

27、Inspectorate IEC Quality Assessment System for Electronic Components 2 Requirements 2.1 Capability approval Components and cable assemblies furnished to this specification shall be authorized by the NSI for listing on the QPL under the capability approval procedure in accordance with 11.7.7 of IEC Q

28、C O01 002. 2.2 Classification Components and cable assemblies furnished to this specification shall be classified by assessment level. In addition, they may be classified by climatic and environmental categories. 2.2.1 Climatic category Climatic category is defined in appendix A of IEC 68-1. The fol

29、lowing are preferred values which may be specified. Subsidiary specifications consist of sectional specificat

31、or each subfamily of components. The specifi- cation shall contain: 1) Any additional requirements peculiar to the subfamily. 2) Any additional quality assessment procedures peculiar to the subfamily. 3) Any standard or preferred values and severities which are peculiar to the subfamily. 4) The mini

32、mum mandatory test schedules for the subfamily. 5) One or more blank detail specifications. 2.3.2 Measurements 2.3.2.1 Reference components The description of capability (3.2.1) shall define reference components as required. 2.3.2.2 Gauges The description of capability (3.2.1) shall define gauges as

33、 required. 2.3.3 Test data sheets Prepare test data sheets for each test conducted to the capability test programme. Include the data sheets in the capability approval report (3.2.8) and in the periodic inspection report (3.3.2.3). Include the following minimum Information in each data sheet: - titl

34、e of test and date; - a complete description of the capability qualifying component(s) including the type of fibre, the type of cable, and the components; - test equipment used and date of latest calibration; - all applicable test details; - all measurement values and observations; - sufficiently de

35、tailed documentation to provide traceable information for failure analysis (see 3.2.6 and 3.3.2.4). 2.3.4 Safety warnings Each detail specification shall include the following warning: Care should be taken when handling small diameter optical fibre to prevent puncturing the skin, especially in the e

36、ye area. Direct viewing of an optical fibre. when it is propagat- ing energy, is not recommended unless prior assurance has been obtained as to the safe energy output level.“ Page 7 EN 61313-1 : 1997 I 2.4 Design and Construction 2.4.1 Materials 2.4.1.1 Corrosion resistance All materials used in the

37、 construction of components or cable assemblies shall be corrosion resistant or shall be suitably finished to meet the requirements of the detail specif cat ion. 2.4.1.2 Non-flammable materials When non-flammable materials are required, the requirement shall be specified in the detail specification

38、and IEC 695-2-2 shall be referenced. 2.4.2 Workmanship Components or cable assemblies shall be manufactured to a uniform quality. The appro- priate manufacturers instructions for use shall be followed when applying components to the fibre/cable. - Particular attention shall be given to neatness and

39、thoroughness of marking, soldering, bonding, etc. 2.5 Quality assessment The quality assessment procedures of clause 3 shall control the quality of components and Gable assemblies covered by this specification. 2.6 Identification and marking Components, cable assemblies, associated hardware and pack

40、ages shall be pmianently and legibly marked as required by the detail specification. - E - = II I - - * * vi I 2.6.1 Component or cable assembly marking The preferred order of marking for components or cable assemblies is: 1) manufacturers identification mark; 2) manufacturing date code; 3) manufact

41、urers part number. 2.6.2 Package marking The preferred order of marking components or cable assemblies is: 1) manufacturers identification mark; 2) manufacturers part number; 3) manufacturing date code (year/week) (see IS0 8601); 4) assessment level(s): Page 8 EN 61313-1 : 1997 5) climatic category;

42、 6) environmental category: 7) additional marking required by the detail specification. 8 Quality assessment procedures Procedures for quality assessment and release of components or cay. assemblies consist of: - capability approval (2.1); - quality conformance inspection (3.3). 3.1 Primary skage of

43、 manufacture The primary stage of manufacture for components or cable assemblies covered by this specification Is defined at the manufacturing stage when the parts which make up the individual component or cable assembly are aggregated into the product defined in the detail specification. . Subcontr

44、acting of the primary stage and subsequent stages is permitted. 3.2 Capablty approval prOC8dUfeS 3.2.1 Description of capability The manufacturer shall prepare a description of capability in accordance with 11.7.3.2 of IEC QC 001 002. The description shall include: a) th8 limits of capabflity; b) th

45、e design rules; c) a process flow chart, including inspection points; d) a list of the specifications for the material and parts used; e) a list of the specifications for the inspections to be carried out; f) a list of the fibres, cables, and components by manufacturers part number. 3.2.2 Capability

46、 qualifying component The capability qualifying component may consist of a complete component or cable assembly or any indivklual subassembly or test piece which will demonstrate the limits of capability defined in the description of capability (3.2.1). 3.2.3 CapabiMy fest pfogmmme The manufacturer

47、shall provide a capability test programme in accordance with 11.7.3.3 of IEC QC 001002. The programme shall include: a) a description of the CQCs to be used as specimens in the capability approval tests, including instructions for use (see 3.2.2); Page 9 EN 61313-1 : 1997 b) a description of the cou

48、nterpart components.; c) the test schedules for capability approval and a test plan. The test plan shall include a complete schedule of test events along with the test requirements; d) the assessment level; e) the climatic category, If specified; f) the environmental category, if specified; g) the t

49、est schedules as specified in the applicable sectional specification for periodic inspection of the CQCs (groups C and D) and a test plan. The test plan shall include a complete schedule of test events, together with the test requirements. The manufacturer shall obtain approval for the test programme from the NSI. 3.2.4 Preparation of specimens The CQCs shall be prepared for testing according to the instructions for use defined in the capability test programme (3.2.3). 3.2.5 Capability approval testing Manufacturers shall conduct the
