16、TC 86, Fibre optics, was submitted to the IEC-CENELEC parallel vote and was approved by CENELEC as EN 62148-1 on 2002-04-01. The following dates were fixed: - latest date by which the EN has to be implemented at national level by publication of an identical national standard or by endorsement - late

17、st date by which the national standards conflicting with the EN have to be withdrawn (dop) 2003-01-01 (dow) 2005-04-01 This standard forms one of a series under the general title: Fibre opfic acfive coponenfs and devices - Package and inferface sfandards. This part 1 of EN 62148 covers general infor

18、mation and includes references, definitions and rules for creating an interface standard. Subsequent parts are sequentially numbered and contain standard interfaces for specific active components and devices. The optical performance criteria are generally w

22、ell specified for a number of internationally agreed application areas, for example consulting ITU Recommendations originating in Study Group 15, Opfical and ofher fransporf nefworks. Manufacturers using the standards are responsible for meeting the required performance and/or reliability and qualit

23、y assurance under a recognized scheme. 24、ve components and devices supplied by different manufacturers, but does not guarantee operation between such devices. This interface standard defines physical interfaces only and no guarantee of performance is implied, nor should it be assumed. 2 Normative references The following referenced documen

27、, indicafions on drawings 3 Definitions For the purposes of this part of IEC 62148, the following definitions apply. 3.1 base plane plane passing through the lowest plane of the case body that is parallel with the seating plane 3.2 elect ri cal term i n al that part of the fibre optic active compone

28、nt or device primarily used for making an electrical connect ion 3.3 footprint projection of the fibre optic active component or device on the seating plane for mounting purposes NOTE This includes the mounting space on the seating plane as well as positions and sizes of counterpart electrical termi

29、nals and mechanical fixtures. 31、mounting of the active components and devices 4 Classification Fibre optic transceiver modules can be classified into different forms according to the combination of mating types of electrical and optical interfaces. 0 Type 1: fibre optic connector interface with direct solderable type electrical te

32、rminals. 0 Type 2: fibre optic connector interface with plug-in type electrical terminals 0 Type 3: fibre optic pigtail interface with direct solderable type electrical terminals. 0 Type 4: fibre optic pigtail interface with plug-in type electrical terminals. 0 Type 5: module that is not classified

33、into types 1 to 4. NOTE A typical example is a module that has both electrical connectors and non-connector type terminals as an electrical interface, such as a coaxial connector for signal and lead terminals for the power supply. 5 Specifications of optical interfaces 5.1 General The optical interf

34、ace should be selected from those whose interchangeability is guaranteed by other IEC standards (for example, IEC 61754). 5.2 Optical connector interfaces (types 1, 2 and 5) Detailed drawings of the optical connector interface are not necessarily required when referenced to the appropriate IEC stand

35、ard. Where an optical connector is not standardized under the IEC system, full detail drawings of the interface shall be presented. 5.3 Pigtail interfaces (types 3, 4 and 5) As a general rule, optical fibres and cables specified in IEC 60794 shall be used for the pigtail interface. 36、2 Page 6 EN 62148-12002 5.4 Optical port assignments Where an optical port assignment is necess ry to differ ntiat the re eiving and tra smitting elements for the transceiver they should be identified and tabulated. 6 Specifications of electrical interfaces 6.1 General The electrical interface shoul

37、d be selected from those whose interchangeability is guaranteed by other IEC standards (for example, IEC 60130, IEC 60191, IEC 60603, IEC 60807, IEC 61076, etc.) 6.2 Electrical connector interfaces (types 2 and 4) As a general rule, electrical connectors used for the electrical interface of the fibr

38、e optic transceiver module should be those standardized in IEC 60130, IEC 60191, IEC 60603, IEC 60807 and IEC 61076. Detailed drawings of the electrical connector interface are not necessarily required when referenced to the appropriate IEC standard. However, the mechanical datum necessary to guaran

39、tee interchangeability shall be specified in the drawings. Where an electrical connector is not standardized under the IEC system, full detail drawings of the interface shall be presented. 6.3 Non-connector type interfaces (types 1 and 3) As a general rule, non-connector type interfaces used as the

40、electrical interface for the fibre optic transceiver module should be those specified in IEC 60191. In this case, detailed drawings of the electrical interface are not necessarily required when referenced to the appropriate IEC standard. However, the mechanical datum necessary to guarantee interchan

41、geability shall be specified in the drawings. Where an electrical interface is not standardized under the IEC system, the electrical interface shall be specified as complying with the requirements of IEC 60191-1. Numbering of electrical terminals Electrical terminals of the non-connector type interf

42、ace should be identified by numbers according to the system specified in IEC 60191. Electrical terminals of the connector type shall be numbered using the system appropriate to the connector and associated IEC reference. In general, this will involve the use of letters for rows and numbers for pins

43、along the rows. 6.4 Electrical terminal assignment Each electrical pin shall have its functionality (e.g. power, ground, data, etc.) assigned and tabulated in a supplementary table according to the electrical terminal number. 7 Outline and footprint of active components and devices 7.1 Drawings of c

44、ase outline The case outline of the active components and devices in subsequent parts of IEC 62148 shall be presented and interpreted as complying with the requirements described in IS0 1101. 45、d devices in subsequent parts of IEC 62148 shall be presented and interpreted as complying with the drawing requirements described in IS0 1101. 7.3 Mechanical fixturing Where mechanical features associated with fixing active components and devices to the board are present on the module, their positi

46、ons and dimensions should be specified in the drawings. Their values and tolerances should be tabulated. These dimensions and tolerances must be consistent with those of the footprint.
