33、tometricdetection 3.1 Principle WhenusingFIA,thesampleisinjectedintoacontinuousflowingcarrierstream(water)throughaninjectionvalve. WhenusingCFA,thesampleispumpedintothecarrierstreamviaaperistalticpump.Dependingonthe concentrationofthesample,thesampleisdilutedwithwater.Areagentsolution(mercurythiocya
34、nateiron(III) nitratesolution),alsopumpedbytheperistalticpump,isthenmixedwiththesamplestream.Thethiocyanate, whichisliberatedbythechloride,reactswiththeiron(III)ionstoformared-colourediron(III)thiocyanatecomplex 4,5,6. ItisabsolutelyessentialthatthetestsdescribedinthisInternationalStandardbecarriedo
35、utbysuitablyqualified staff.
