In acco
、rdance with CCIlT Recommendation 1.130 ll, the following three level structure is used to describe the supplementary telecommunications services as provided by European public telecommunications operators under the pan-European Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN): - Stage 1 : is an overall se
、rvice description, from the users standpoint; - Stage 2: identifies the functional capabilities and information flows needed to support the service described in stage 1 ; and - Stage 3: defines the signalling system protocols and switching functions needed to implement the service described in stage
、 1. This ETS details the stage 1 aspects (overall service description) for the Advice Of Charge: charging information during the call (AOC-D) supplementary service. Stage 2 and stage 3 aspects are detailed in ETS 300 181 (1 992) and ETS 300 182 (1 9921, respectively. 3404583 0048850 399 Page 7 ETS 3
、00 179:1992 1 Scope This standard defines the stage one of the Advice Of Charge: charging information during the call (AOC-0) supplementary service for the pan-European Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) as provided by European public telecommunications operators. Stage one is an overall ser
、vice description from the users point of view (see CCITT Recommendation 1.130 ll), but does not deal with the details of the human interface itself. This standard defines the interworking requirements of private ISDNs with the public ISDN. In addition this standard specifies the base functionality w
、here the service is provided to the user via a private ISDN. This standard does not specify the additional requirements where the service is provided to the user via a telecommunications network that is not an ISDN but does include interworking requirements of other networks with the public ISDN. Ch
、arging principles are outside the scope of this standard. Interaction with supplementary services not listed in Clause 8 are outside the scope of this standard. The AOC-D supplementary service enables a user to receive information on the recorded charges for a call during the active phase of the cal
、l. The AOC-D supplementary service is applicable to all circuit-switched telecommunications services. This standard is applicable to the stage two and stage three standards for the ISDN AOC-D supplementary service. The terms “stage two“ and “stage three“ are also defined in CCITT Recommendation 1.13
、0 ill. Where the text indicates the status of a requirement (.e. as strict command or prohibition, as authorisation leaving freedom, or as a capability or possibility), this shall be reflected in the text of the relevant stage two and stage three standards. Furthermore, conformance to this standard
、is met by conforming to the stage three standard with the field of application appropriate to the equipment being implemented. Therefore, no method of testing is provided for this standard. 2 Normative references This standard incorporates, by dated or undated reference, provisions from other public
、ations. These normative references are cited at the appropriate places in the text and the publications are listed hereafter. For dated references, subsequent amendments to, or revisions of, any of these publications apply to this standard only when incorporated in it by amendment or revision. For u

、s Digital Network 5 Description The AOC-D supplementary service shall apply to the basic access and to the primary rate access. The AOC-D supplementary service provides the served user with cumulative charging information during the call. The information can be sent for all calls, or on a per call b
、asis. The charge information given shall relate to the charges incurred on the network to which the served user is attached. The structure, contents and application of charging information is given in Annex A. 6 Procedures 6.1 Provision and withdrawal The AOC-D supplementary service shall either be
、provided on a subscription basis or be generally available. The AOC-D supplementary service can be offered with one subscription option. Only one value can be selected. 31、y I - On a per call basis (NOTE) NOTE: If the AOC-D supplementary service is generally available, then the value “on a per-call basis“ should be the default value. 32、Normal procedures 6.2.1 Activation, deactivation and registration The AOC-D supplementary service shall be activated on provision and deactivated on withdrawal. The AOC-D supplementary service requires no registration. 6.2.2 Erasure 8 Not applicable. 6.2.3 Invocation and operation Depending on the v
、alue of the subscription option, the AOC-D supplementary service shall be invoked on all calls, or it can be invoked by the served user on a per call basis. If the AOC-D supplementary service is provided on a per call basis, the user shall request the AOC-D supplementary service when originating a c

The rate of sending information can be limited such that information shall not be sent more frequently than every t seconds, .e. infor
、mation shall be sent every t seconds, or when the increment occurs whichever is later. The value of t shall be a network option. If the call is free of charge to the served user, this shall be indicated (either by the value “O”, or by ”free of charge”). If the call becomes free of charge to the serv
、ed user during the call, the indication can be given at that time. This indication shall not be repeated periodically (for a special case see subclause 8.1 5). When the call is terminated, the overall charge for the call, even if it was free of charge, shall be sent to the served user. The structure
、, contents and application of the charging information is given in Annex A. 6.2.4 Interrogation Not applicable. 6.3 Exceptional procedures 6.3.1 Activation, deactivation and registration Not applicable. 6.3.2 Erasure Not applicable. 6.3.3 Invocation and Operation If a served user who is not provided
、 with the AOC-D supplementary service attempts to invoke the AOC-D supplementary service, then the attempt to invoke the AOC-D supplementary service shall be rejected by the network and the user shall be informed of the reason. If for any reason, no charging information is provided at all on a call, then the user sha

NOTE: In the case that a served users outgoing call is being held and the AOC-D supplementary service is invoked, the charging information is sent when appropriate whilst the call is on hold. = 3404583 004BB54 T34
