SCOPE This specification defines hot rolled sheet, strip, or plate steel with noted minimum mechanical properties. The steel is a low carbon rimmed or killed steel, pr

3、oduced by open hearth or basic oxygen processes, with subsequent operations controlled to provide necessary mechanical properties and adequate formability. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used for frame crossmember applications. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQ

4、UIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 CHEMICAL COMPOSITION Carbon 0.13 - 0.20 Manganese 0.30 - 0.60 Phosphorus 0.04 max Sulfur 0.05 max Deviations in carbon and mangan

5、ese will be allowed provided mechanical property requirements are met and the total of the % carbon plus 1/6% manganese does not exceed 0.30. 3.3 MECHANICAL PROPERTIES (ASTM E 8) 3.3.1 Tensile Strength, min 50,000 psi (345 MPa) 3.3.2 Yield Strength, min 36,000 psi (248 MPa) 3.3.3 Elongation, min 20

Annealing prior or during forming is not permitted without Product Engineering Authorization.
