SCOPE This specification defines the requirements for a flexible, pigmented paint system suitable for elastomeric substrates. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for coatings
3、on high density polyurethane used as a decorative insert on steel wheels. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. Test specimens shall be taken from painted production parts whenever possible. Where part configuration does not permit
4、 sample selection, molded slabs may be painted with production equipment and subsequently evaluated. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 COLOR AND GL
5、OSS Painted parts must match the master sample originally approved by the affected product engineering office. 3.3 FADE-O-METER RESISTANCE, min 250 h (SAE J 1885) No discoloration, peeling, cracking, or loss of adhesion. 3.4 WEATHER RESISTANCE, min 1000 h (ASTM D 822) No peeling, cracking, loss of a
6、dhesion, or discoloration in coating. 3.5 ADHESION (FLTM BI 106-01) No loss of coating adhesion between paint and substrate greater than 0.8 mm from scribed lines. 7、2 3.6 SALT SPRAY RESISTANCE, min 250 h (FLTM BI 103-01) No blistering, loss of coating adhesion, or other permanent adverse effects. 3.7 STEAM RESISTANCE Test Method: Expose painted sample to one cycle of the following procedure: Immerse sample in water at 23 +/- 2 C for 24 h. Transfer sample immedi
8、ately to a cold cabinet held at -18 C for 16 h. Remove from cold chamber and immediately expose sample to a jet of live low pressure steam 14 - 35 kPa for 5 min. The temperature at sample surface shall be between 100 and 110 C. No blistering, loss of coating adhesion, or other permanent adverse effe
9、cts. Optional Test Method: THERMAL SHOCK RESISTANCE No blistering or loss of adhesion (FLTM BI 107-05) 4 h water immersion. 4 h min exposure at -29 C. Direct steam blast on scribed X at a 45 angle 50 - 75 mm from panel for 30 seconds. 3.8 HUMIDITY RESISTANCE, min 250 h (FLTM BQ 104-02) No blistering
10、 or loss of adhesion greater than 1.6 mm from scribed lines. 3.9 PAINT THICKNESS COLOR COAT, min 25 micrometre Where part configuration does not permit uniform coverage the location of minimum thickness area shall be shown on engineering drawing. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 The substrate material is a polyurethane material defined by ESA-M2D264-A.
