APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material used to attachmolded acrylic medallions to wheel covers or ornaments.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 The
3、 following tests are to be conducted on each lot of material.3.1.1 Viscosity 6.5 +/- 2.0(FLTM BV 3-1, except use 345 kPa airpressure and a 3.18 mm diameter opening.)3.1.2 Cure Rate PassTe st Method: Apply a 3.18 mm diameter bead of sealer to asteel plate and allow to cure for 5 h at 25 +/- 3 C and 5
4、0+/- 5 % relative humidity. After 5 h, compress the sealerbead to a height of 1.0 mm maximum for 1 min. Spacer barsmay b e used for proper dimensioning. Sealer must besufficiently cured so the skin does not break, s plit or crackduring compression.3.1.3 Specific Gravity 1.04 +/- 0.03(ASTM D 792, Met
5、hod A)3.2 The following tests plus the tests required in para 3.1, are to beconducted at the time of initial material approv al and as directed byQuality Control. Requirements are to be fulfille d using approximately1.8 mm thick slabs prepared in accordance with the manufacturersrecommendations.3.2.

7、 free fromforeign materials and properties detrimental to normalprodu ction applications. It shall not contain particles orsolid spots o f sufficient size to cause blockage of an 0.05 mmdiameter orifice.3.2.5 Infrared SpectrophotometryFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infraredanalysis o
8、f material/parts supplied to this specification. Thespec tra established for initial approval shall constitute thereference sta ndard and shall be kept on file at the designatedmate rial laboratory. All samples shall produce spectra thatcorrespond to the reference standard w hen tested under the sam
9、econditions as those specified on the master spectrum.3.3 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupp liers must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStandard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describe d thereinis required for material/source approval. Appropriate statisti cal toolsmust be used
10、to analyze process/product data so that variation in thefinal product is continuously reduced.3.4 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent in allcharact eristics to the material upon which approval was originallygranted.Prior to making any change in the
11、 properties, composition, cons truction,color, processing or labeling of the m aterial originally approved underthi s specification, whether or not such changes affect the materialsability to meet the specification requirements, the Supplier shallno tify Purchasing, Toxicology and the affected Mater
12、ials Engineeringactivity of the proposed changes and o btain the written approval of theMaterials Engineering activity. Test data, test samples and a new codeidentification are to be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, app ly to thematerials add res
13、sed by this document. APPROVAL OF MATERIAL
14、SMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresponsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approval oftheir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from the a ffectedPurchasi ng, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Upon request, theS
15、upplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineering activity its ownlaboratory report to the specification (test results, not nominal value s), thematerial designation and code number, and test specimens for Ford evaluation.Upon approval, the material will be added to the Engineering Material

GENERAL INFORMATIONThis information is for direction of the user and is not a requirement for thesupplier.5.1 STORAGE STABILITYMaterial shall retain original propert ies for a period of 6 months fromthe date of s hipment when stored in unopened container at temperaturesbetween 20 C-30 C.5.2 SAFETYThis material may release MeOH during cure. Adequate ventilati on shouldbe provided in the work environment to prevent build up of fumes.
