SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a solvent cut-back type rust preventive compound for part time protection during storage and shipment of ferrous metal parts. 2. APPL
3、ICATION This specification was released originally for material used to coat bearing cups in rotors and hub and drum assemblies for passenger car front wheels. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standa
4、rd Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 APPLICATION OF CHARACTERISTICS This material shall be suitable for application by means of brush, dip or spray at room temperature and shall be readily removable by conventional cleaning methods. 3.2 COMPOSITION This material is essentia
5、lly a prepared compound of fats and mineral oils and reduced with hydrocarbon solvents such as Stoddard Solvent, Special Spirits and Kerosene. 3.3 REDUCTION The proportion of reduction will vary depending upon the particular application; however, for part time protection a reduction of three or four
