SCOPE This specification defines the adhesion requirements for an adhesive or an adhesive system suitable for bonding molded weatherstrip to the aluminum frame in m

3、odule window assemblies. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for adhesives used to bond ESB-M2D348 RIM urethane and ESB-M4D284 polyvinyl chloride weatherstrip to SAE AA6063T5 aluminum. Compliance with this performance specification does not guarantee the adhesive will function

4、for all potential applications on a vehicle. The specific assembly should be evaluated to Design Engineering performance requirements. Materials meeting this performance specification are specified on the Corporate Approved Source List. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERI

5、ALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 CONDITIONING All test values indicated herein are based on materials conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5% relative humidity for 24

6、 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise stated herein. 3.2 PEEL ADHESION Average load specified or substrate breakage Subject bonded test assemblies to the following exposures: Normal, min (Condition for 30 min at specified temperature prior to test) 3.2.1 Test at 2

9、3.2.10 1 year Florida exposure, 5 South DWI 18 N Test Method: Mold a 6.4 mm width x 200 mm length x 3.2 mm thick material section to an adhesive primed 300 x 300 mm glass plate. Substrates are identified in para 5.1. Condition test assemblies for 4 h minimum at 23 +/- 2 C prior to environmental expo

10、sure. Subject three test assemblies to each environment listed above. Allow test assemblies to condition 24 h minimum at 23 +/- 2 C after environmental exposure before peel test. Conduct 180 peel test using a tensile tester at 25 mm/min pull rate. 3.3 MODULE WINDOW ASSEMBLY PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS

11、Parts assembled with adhesive shall meet all engineering requirements specified by ES-D7WB-6529600-AA. 3.4 FUNCTIONAL APPROVAL Materials being evaluated for initial approval to this specification shall be subjected to a production trial. Functional trial results should be available to design and mat

13、cification. 5.1 SUBSTRATES 5.1.1 ESB-M2D348 RIM Urethane - 5.1 mm nominal thickness. 5.1.2 ESB-M4D284 Polyvinyl Chloride - 5.1 mm nominal thickness. 5.1.3 SAE AA 6063T5 Aluminum - 1.1 mm nominal thickness. 5.2 ADHESIVE Use current production adhesive primer as recommended by the module window assembly supplier.
