APPLICATION These specifications were released originally to supplement information appearing on the engineering drawing and the individual material spec

4、ification. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 CONDITIONING All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 2C and 50 5% relative humidity for 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same controlled conditions. 3.2 CONSTRUCTION Due to the effect of design on du

5、rability, each individual molding assembly construction must be approved by both the appropriate Design Activity and the Body Materials Engineering Department. Parts utilizing aluminum for the coextrusion must have the visible surface entirely covered with vinyl. Parts utilizing bi-metal must be des

Parts utilizing stainless steel must be designed to be fully insulated from the body by the vinyl. 3.3 USAGE ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION ESB-M15P23-A1/A2/A3 WP 3948-b Page 2 of 5 The moldings defined by these specifications are intended for use on flat

7、 and curved body surfaces, deck lids, and wheel lip openings. Materials intended for use on curved surfaces and/or bends shall be evaluated to the requirements of these specifications, simulating the most severe curve or bend. 3.4 BONDING SURFACE The moldings shall be evaluated with the vinyl bonded

Place panel or sample in large beaker, half full of M-14J148 Petroleum Naphtha - Aliphatic type at 23 2 for 1 h. The

19、 molding, after removal from the naphtha, shall not be blistered and only slightly softened and dulled. 3.10 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY All materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent in all characteristics to the material upon which approval was originally granted. Prior to making any

20、 change in the properties, composition, construction, color, processing or labelling of the material originally approved under this specification, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology and the

21、 affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changes and obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineering activity. Test data, test samples and a new code identification are to be submitted with the request. Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply to the

22、 materials addressed by this document. The restrictions are defined in Engineering Material Specification WSS-M99P9999-A1, unless a different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineering document for the application. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION ESB-M15P23-A

23、1/A2/A3 WP 3948-b Page 5 of 5 Materials defined by this specification must have prior approval by the responsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from the affected Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering

24、 activity. Upon request, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineering activity its own laboratory report to the specification (test results, not nominal values), the material designation and code number, and test specimens for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be a

25、dded to the Engineering Material Approved Source List. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION This data is for information only and is not a requirement. 5.1 All samples submitted for engineering approval will be evaluated by B&CE for resistance to scuffing (FLTM BN 8-10) and soiling (FLTM BN 12-1) as required for

26、the intended application. Proposed high scuff area materials must be resistant to scuffing and light colored materials must be resistant to soiling. 5.2 The supplier shall provide detailed identification of all construction components (proprietary information excluded) with each submission for engineering evaluation.
