SCOPE The material defined by these specifications is a resin bonded fiber batt of good quality and uniform construction. 2. APPLICATION These specifications were released orig
、inally for material used as sound absorption batts for the tray, cowl, side and roof panels of car bodies. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part produce
、rs must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 COMPOSITION AND CONSTRUCTION These materials shall consist of a mixture of cotton and synthetic garnetted fibers in either a parallel or random orientation. The fibers shall be firmly bonded with a p
、henolformaldehyde resin (10 - 25% by weight). 3.3 RESISTANCE TO ADHESIVE SEEPAGE Shall resist penetration or seepage of ESB-M2G56 and/or ESB-M2G43 Adhesives (Rubber Base), through more than 50% of the thickness of the material. In addition, there shall be no through “spot“ bleeding at any area of th
、e material. Test Procedure . Prepare a 12 x 12 in (300 x 300 mm) x thickness of sample. . Apply 15 - 20 g of ESB-M2G56 and/or ESB-M2G43 on the mid 12 x 12 in (300 x 300 mm) area of a sheet steel panel, spreading uniformly over the surface. The panel used should be 12 x 15 in (300 x 380 mm) or a size
、 which will permit support of the two lengthwise ends over a frame or rack. . Place the sample on the treated surface of the panel, then roll with a roller, 12 in (300 mm) long and weighing 5 lb (2.3 kg) (without applying additional pressure). Any material, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have been treated, modified or reformulated to conform
、 to Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 024-02, regardless of max burn rate, must be evaluated for both permanency of materials flame retardant properties and changes in mechanical, chemical and physical properties per ESB-M25P3-A applicable to the basic materials category of this particular specification. 3.9.3 Flammability Test Program Materials, portions of components, and composites governed by this specification must also comply with the requirements of ES-D3AB11014-AA.
