SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a round or flat steel wire processed to meet the physical requirements of this specification. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for materials used for variou

3、s seat spring components such as border wires, arch wires, tension wires, and paper covered tie wires. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A)

9、withstand winding on its own diameter without cracking or breaking. 3.5 DIMENSION VARIATION The diameter of the wire shall not vary from that specified by more than the following: Size of Wire Allowable Variation 0.028 in (0.71 mm) - 0.075 in (1.90 mm) +/- 0.001 in (0.03 mm) 0.076 in (1.93 mm) - 0.3

10、75 in (9.53 mm) +/- 0.002 in (0.05 mm) 0.376 in (9.55 mm) and over +/- 0.003 in (0.08 mm) The wire shall not be out of round more than one half the total permissible variations prescribed in the first part of this paragraph. 3.6 WORKMANSHIP The wire shall be uniform in quality and temper and shall n

11、ot be wavy or crooked. Each bundle shall be one continuous length of wire, properly coiled, and firmly tied. 3.7 SURFACE CONDITION The surface of the wire as received shall be free from rust and excessive scale. The surface of the wire shall be free from serious seams and deep scratches which will m

12、aterially affect the quality of the finished product.
