、LYURETHANE FOAM, ACOUSTICAL - 80 kg/m3 ESB-M2D297-A5 NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a polyether urethane foam cast to the desired configuration. Finished parts have elastomeric sound barrier molded integrally with the foam to provide a one-piece
、barrier/isolator composite assembly. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used as molded dash panel and floor pan isolators for the 1984 Continental/Mark VII. The foam shall not be used in direct contact with metal temperatures exceeding 121 C. Metal contact tempera
、tures or exposure temperatures that exceed 121 C shall employ sufficient insulation to insure that the foam is exposed to less than 121 C. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Mat

、 FLAMMABILITY 3.14.1 In order to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 302, the materials, portions of components, and composites shall not burn, or transmit a flame across its surface, at a rate of more than 101 mm per min. To demonstrate compliance, the sample size and method of te
、sting shall be in accordance with FLTM BN 024-02. 3.14.2 Performance - Environmental Aging All materials, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have not been treated, modified or reformulated and exceed a max burn rate of 76 mm per min as specified by the Flammabi
、lity Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 024-02, must be evaluated for permanency of the materials flame retardant properties per ESB-M25P3-A according to the accelerated environ-mental aging requirements applicable to the basic material category of this particular specification. Any material, portions of
、components, and composites defined by this specification that have been treated, modified or reformulated to conform to Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 024-02, regardless of max burn rate, must be evaluated for both permanency of materials flame retardant properties and changes in mechanic
、al, chemical and physical properties per ESB-M25P3-A applicable to the basic materials category of this particular specification. 3.14.3 Flammability Test Program Materials, portions of components, and composites governed by this specification must also comply with the requirements of ES-D3AB-11014-
、AA. 3.15 ACOUSTICAL PERFORMANCE Suppliers approved to this specification must have their material functionally approved by the affected Car Product Development Group for acoustical performance. This approval must be obtained before Materials and Corrosion Protection Engineering Department approval will be given. 5.
