APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material used to bond the polyurethane foam in ESB-M
3、5H9-A/B to fiberglass batt ESB-M12G62-A in 1982 Continental molded one piece headliner.Proper heat and pressure would be required for bonding the substrates. In addition to therequirements listed here for the film, the headliner must meet all requirements specified in theperformance specification ES
4、B-M15P1-A and engineering specification ES-E25B-5451944 AA.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 THICKNESS Shall be as specified on the
5、engineering drawing. 3.3 DENSITY, min 61.2 lb/ft3 (980 kg/m3) (ASTM D 1667) Value is based on 3.0 mil (76 mm) thickness of the polyester film. 3.4 BREAKING LOAD, min 18.0 lb (80.0 N) (ASTM D 1682, Grab Test, use a 4 x 7 in (100 x 175 mm) sample and pull at 12 in (303 mm) per min, both directions). 3

8、alues, the cover stock must show no blister, bubbles or areas of no adhesion under the conditions described below: I - The headliner fabric ESB-M5H9-B, bonded to an uncompressed area (density of 1-2 lb/ft3) of the molded glass fiber, ESB-M12G66-A. II- The headliner fabric ESB-M5H9-B, bonded to a com
9、pressed area (density of 4-6 lb/ft3) of the molded glass fiber, ESB-M12G66-A. 3.7 QUALITY Shall have a uniform thickness and density without any tear, break and holes. Shall be clean, smooth and free from foreign materials or impurities detrimental to normal production bonding operations. Failure to
10、 meet these requirements shall be a cause for rejection. 3.8 STORAGE Shall be stored at 23 +/- 2 C at 50 +/- 5% relative humidity and should be protected from any contamination prior to use. Material should be kept away from heat, sunlight and ultraviolet radiation sources. 3.9 SHELF LIFE Shall have
11、 a minimum shelf life of 6 months when stored at 23 +/- 2 C at 50 +/- 5% relative humidity. The material shall be rotated in storage so that older material is used first. Storage times greater than 6 months shall be avoided. 4. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarific
12、ation and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 4.1 COLOR Clear film 4.2 USAGE The material should be used in adhesive applications only to bond various substrates. The adhesive strength will depend upon substrates. Adhesion requirements for the assembly should be referred to

Therefore, the material shall be used in a composite and the composite must meet the flammability requirements. 4.4 SOFTENING POINT The material shall soften at temperature above 215 F (102 C).
