、EATHERSTRIPS NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is an acrylic based adhesion primer for polyvinyl chloride. This primer contains a fluorescent tracer. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used to prime ESB-M4D284 polyvi
、nyl chloride weatherstrip prior to the application of ESB-M2G246 urethane adhesive in the installation of module window assemblies. Recommended primer application thickness is 0.076 - 0.127 mm wet film. Primer can be applied with brush or felt applicator. Assemblies primed shall be bonded within 60
、days. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 COLOR Clear 3.3 VISCOSITY 16 - 22s (FLTM BI 111-01, No. 2 Zahn cup) 3.4 SOLIDS, min 17% (AS
、TM D 2834, except heat at 100 +/- 3 C in a mechanical convection oven for 3 h) 3.5 WEIGHT PER VOLUME 0.8 - 0.9 kg/l (ASTM D 816) The weight tolerance for any one supplier shall be +/- 0.024 kg/l based on the recorded weight of the original approved production sample. 3.6 DRYING TIME, max 10 minutes
、Test Method: Brush apply primer at 0.076 - 0.127 mm wet film thickness to a ESB-M4D284 polyvinyl chloride substrate. Dab the primer film with a wad of absorbent cotton 30s after primer application. Repeat cotton dab every 30s until the cotton fibers do not adhere to the primer. A new area on the pri
、mer should be touched with each repeat test. Record the time elapsed from initial primer application until no cotton fiber adherence to primer. 8、Cup) 3.8 ADHESION PERFORMANCE Shall meet the adhesion requirements outlined in ESB-M11P30-A performance specification when applied to ESB-M4D284 polyvinyl chloride. 3.9 STORAGE STABILITY 3.9.1 Closed Container Closed containers shall be stored at ambient temperatures below 35 C, away from all source
、s of heat such as oven direct sunlight, etc. Under these storage conditions, the maximum shelf life of the material, from date of shipment from supplier, is 60 days. 3.9.2 Applied to Assembly Assemblies primed shall be stored at ambient temperatures below 35 C. Assemblies shall be kept free of surfa
、ce contamination such as dust, moisture, hand oils, etc. Under these conditions, the maximum shelf life of the material, prior to bonding, is 60 days. 3.9.3 Labeling The supplier must label each container and assembly packaging container to indicate the expiration date of the material. Production us
、age beyond the expiration date is not permitted. 3.10 QUALITY Shall be a smooth, homogeneous mixture free from foreign materials and properties detrimental to normal production operations. 4. GENERAL INFORMATION 4.1 MATERIAL HANDLING This primer is moisture sensitive and therefore, containers should be closed immediately after primer application. Dry air or a nitrogen blanket should be utilized in production when dispensing from 5 gallon pails. Primer stored at temperature below 23 C should be conditioned at 23 C for 24 h prior to production usage.
