、W DESIGN 1. SCOPE: This specification was released originally to define the paintability requirements for sheet metal used on unexposed and low visibility exterior automotive body parts. 2. APPLICATION: This specification defines the paintability requirements for the both sides of the following type
、s of sheet metal: . Uncoated cold rolled and HSLA steel . One and two sided zinc and zinc alloy coated steel . Aluminum sheet 3. REQUIREMENTS: 3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESS Suppliers must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality System Standard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as described the
、rein is required for material/source approval. Appropriate statistical tools must be used to analyze process/product data so that variation in the final product is continuously reduced. 3.2 SURFACE APPEARANCE 3.2.1 The uncoated and coated surfaces shall be free from rust, staining, or discoloration
、of any kind. 3.3 SURFACE CLEANLINESS 3.3.1 The uncoated and coated surfaces shall not have any drawing oils, lubricants, or rust preventative materials applied which are not approved by the B&A - Quality Control Office. 3.3.2 Carbonaceous Material 7 mg/m2FLTM BZ 2-3, Method “A“ (required for uncoate
、d crs surfaces only) The sampling frequency for the above requirement shall be determined by the B&A Quality Control Office. Test samples for all evaluations shall be taken as indicated in Illustration A. ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATION ESB-M2P129-B WP 3948-b Page 2 of 5 THE GRAPHIC WHICH SHOULD
