SCOPE This specification defines the performance requirements for a black phenolic coating on rustless steel screws. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for a coating where a black corrosion
3、 resistant rustless steel screw is required to attach black or partially black trim items. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform
4、to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 SYSTEM COMPONENTS Good commercial cleaning. Oxalate coat. Baked dull black pigmented phenolic resin. 3.3 FILM PROPERTIES 3.3.1 Initial Hardness Shall be sufficiently cured at the time of packing to withstand normal
5、handling and shipping without marring. 3.3.2 Adhesion No flaking or chipping (FLTM BI 106-01) Coated screws with cross recess heads when driven, shall show no loss of coating except where the driver contacts the sharp edges. 3.3.3 Film Thickness Shall be such as to give a solid visual covering coat
6、and meet the performance requirements of this specification. Threaded areas and recesses shall be free from excessive build-up of coating. Page 2 of 2 3.4 DURABILITY PROPERTIES 3.4.1 Salt Spray Resistance, min 96 h (FLTM BI 103-01) The screws after being driven into wooden blocks shall be exposed to salt spray per ASTM B 117. The coating shall show no evidence of blistering, peeling, or loss of adhesion and the screws shall show no rust.
