APPLICATION: This specification was released originally for material used in an instrument panel applique. 3. REQUIREMENTS: 3.1 INFRARED SPECTROPHO
3、TOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSIS Ford Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/or thermal analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification. The curves established for initial approval shall constitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at Central Laboratory. All s

7、 not exhibit any flashing or sudden flaming on either surface in excess of the above maximum value. 3.4 ESB-M4D385-B2, FLAMMABILITY 3.4.1 In order to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 302, the materials, portions of components, and composites shall not burn, or transmit a flame a
8、cross its surface, at a rate of more than 4 in (101 mm) per min. To demonstrate compliance, the sample size and method of testing shall be in accordance with FLTM BN 24-2. 3.4.2 All materials, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have not been treated, modified o
9、r reformulated and exceed a max burn rate of 3.0 in (76 mm) per min as specified by the Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 24-2, must be evaluated for permanency of the materials flame retardant properties per ESB-M25P3-A according to the accelerated environmental aging requirements applicabl
10、e to the basic material category of this particular specification. Any material, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have been treated, modified or reformulated to conform to Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 24-2, regardless of max burn rate, must be ev
11、aluated for both permanency of materials flame retardant properties and changes in mechanical, chemical and physical properties per ESB-M25P3-A applicable to the basic materials category of this particular specification. 3.4.3 Flammability Test Program Materials, portions of components, and composit
12、es governed by this specification must also comply with the requirements of ES-D3AB-11014-AA. 3.5 MOLDED PARTS Specific requirements for physical properties of molded parts, when required, shall be specified on engineering drawing, including color. 3.6 DECORABILITY When decorating is required on par
13、ts made of this material, they must be capable of accepting this decoration in accordance with the performance specification shown on the engineering drawing. 14、on must be equivalent to that originally approved. Changes in formulation or processing shall not be made without prior approval as described in Supplier Procedure I-A. 4. APPROVAL OF SUPPLIERS: Suppliers to this specification must be approved by the affected product engineering office. Procedure fo
