SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a thermoplastic elastomer comprised of linear and regular chains of rigid polyamide and flexible polyether
3、segments. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used as a retainer strap for the glove compartment door. NOTICE: This material absorbs and retains moisture. Part design and tolerances must accommodate changes in part dimensions and physical properties due to moisture
4、 absorption or loss in the service/assembly environment. Information on this material with respect to moisture should be obtained from the responsible PEO Materials Engineering Department. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must c
5、onform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.3 MOLDING COMPOUND 3.3.1 Melting Point, min 172 C (ASTM D 789) 3.3.2 Moisture Content, max 0.1% (ASTM D 789) 3.4 MOLDED TEST SPECIMEN 3.4.1 Preparation of Test Specimens All test specimens shall be injection mo
6、lded in accordance with ASTM D 1897. The values of this specification are based on injection molded specimens unless otherwise specified. 3.4.2 Conditioning and Test Conditions All specimens are to be dry as molded. Dry as molded specimens are defined as specimens which immediately upon removal from
7、 mold are sealed in containers that are impermeable to water vapor (maximum specimen moisture content 0.10%). No moisture shall be intentionally added to reach this level.
