A hot stampingprocess may also be used in combination with vacuum metallizing orpainting, provided the resulting finish meets the performancerequirements of
3、this specification.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material used for deck lidornaments, and body side ornaments.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 APPEARANCEAll parts must have 3 dimensional ornamentation. They may haveclear or colored plastic but the decorative finish must be on thesec
4、ond surface. The color of the metallic and/or paint coatings(visible coat - in assembled condition) shall match Ford Motorcompany approved color standard sample.3.1.1 All parts shall be free from any objectionable blemishessuch as orange peel, weld marks, crazing, etc. unlessotherwise designated on
5、the drawing or visual standards.3.1.2 All parts shall be finished off smoothly; flash, gates,etc. removed. All visible surfaces shall be highlypolished unless otherwise specified.3.1.3 Light ReflectionThe mirror bright non-colored metal surfaces shall reflectnot less than 40 % of the measured intens
6、ity of any lightsource.Test Method: A beam of light of known intensity shall bedirected at a given area of any portion of the bright metalsurface. The amount of reflected light shall be measuredby means of a photoelectric cell in combination with amilliammeter. Any comparable method of measuring thi

8、 to one another.3.3 RESISTANCE PROPERTIES3.3.1 Resistance RequirementsParts tested as outlined in para 3.3.2 shall conform to thefollowing:. 9、etallic surfaces shall show no indications ofoxidizing, peeling, blistering, tarnishing or otherdiscoloration. Remove the part fromthe Naphtha and rinse with cold tap water. Wipethe part with a soft cloth and examine. Thereshall be no color transfer

Procedure for gaining approval of a specificmaterial to a new/existing ES-M specification is contained in SupplierProcedure I-A. Approved new suppliers will be added to the EngineeringMaterials Approved Source List.
