SCOPE The materials defined by this specification are thermally moldable calendered PVC compounds that may be used as sound barriers are usually bonded to batt type insulation material. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for materials
3、 used as molded dash insulators, bonded to a reclaimed fiber pad. They were specifically formulated with strength and stiffness properties which would allow direct support of wiring harnesses and other attachment devices without requiring brackets. V ESB-M99GI 27-Al and ESB-M99GI 27-BI were original
4、ly designated V ESB-M99GI 27-A and ESB- M99G127-B, and whenever V ESB-M99GI 27-A and ESB-M99GI 27-B are indicated on engineering drawings, patterns, specifications, etc., the V ESB-M99GI 27-Al and ESB-M99GI 27-BI specifications will be understood to apply. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requ
5、irements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.1 QUALITY SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Quality System Requirements. 3.2 CONDITIONING AND TEST CONDITIONS All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a
6、 controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 OC and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. 3.3 APPEARANCE The barrier material as received, bonded to a reclaimed fiber pad underlay, shall be uniformly smooth, withou
7、t blisters or deep recesses. There shall be no breaks in the vinyl film that would permit any exposure of the underlay material. 15、3.14.1 In order to comply with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard No. 302, the materials, portions of components, and composites shall not burn, or transmit a flame across its surface, at a rate of more than 4 in (101 mm) per min. To demonstrate compliance, the sample size and method of testing s
16、hall be in accordance with FLTM BN 24-2. 3.1 4.2 Performance - Environmental Aging All materials, portions of components, and composites defined by this specification that have not been treated, modified or reformulated and exceed a max burn rate of 3.0 in (76 mm) per min as specified by the Flammab
17、ility Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 24-2, must be evaluated for permanency of the materials flame retardant properties per ESB-M25P3-A according to the accelerated environmental aging requirements applicable to the basic material category of this particular specification. Any material, portions of co
18、mponents, and composites defined by this specification that have been treated, modified or reformulated to conform to Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 24-2, regardless of max burn rate, must be evaluated for both permanency of materials flame retardant properties and changes in mechanical,
19、chemical and physical properties per ESB-M25P3-A applicable to the basic materials category of this particular specification. 22、al originally approved under this specification, whether or not such changes affect the materials ability to meet the specification requirements, the Supplier shall notify the affected Purchasing, and Materials Engineering activities (with reasons) of the proposed changes. Upon notification of the C
23、ompany, further instructions will be provided. Note: Suppliers should be prepared to provide test data and samples demonstrating compliance to this specification, if requested. Substance restrictions imposed by regulations or Company direction applies to the materials addressed by this document. The
24、 restrictions are identified in Restricted Substance Management Standard WSS-M99P9999-A1. 4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALS Materials defined by this specification for direct supply to the Company must have prior approval. Certain materials subcontracted by part suppliers may also require prior approval. The
25、se include materials critical to the Companys business for regulatory, safety, environmental or compatibility requirements or contractual agreements. Suppliers desiring approval of their materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from Purchasing, Design or Materials Engineering activity.
26、 Upon request, the Supplier shall submit a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by a qualified and authorized representative of the test facility, demonstrating full compliance with all the requirements of this specification.
