SCOPE The material defined by this specification is an acid catalyst solution used to convert standard bake polyester basecoat/clearcoat enamels to low bake paint repair coa

3、tings. 2. APPLICATION Catalyzed low bake in-plant repair of painted passenger car exterior surfaces. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A).

4、3.1 SPECIFIC GRAVITY, 25/25 C 0.990 - 1.020 (ASTM D 891) 3.2 ACID NUMBER 160 (ASTM D 1647) 3.3 FLASH POINT, C, min 43 (ASTM D 56) 3.4 COMPOSITION (PERCENT BY WEIGHT) Maleic Acid 20 Cellosolve 80 3.5 INCORPORATION OF CATALYST Basecoat portion is not catalyzed. Catalyst is incorporated into clearcoat

6、ologies, LLC Page 2 of 2 3.7 PERFORMANCE Catalyzed repair enamel applied per requirements of the standard bake system. Final appearance, gloss, intercoat adhesion, weathering and resistance properties shall be consistent with the standard requirements. Catalyzed repair film shall have a Tukon value of 4 - 5 K.H.N. 5. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. This material has a useable shelf life of three(3) months due to the degenerative nature of the acid catalyst.
