APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for
3、 materials used asreinforcement fabrics for the construction of seating assemblies.The ESB-M9H65-A scrim is used as a bottom foundation fabric forspring supports, and as a spring facing or listing. It is also used asan adhesively bonded and/or stitched foundation for cotton pads andmolded foam seat
4、cushions and backs.The ESB-M9H65-B scrim is used as a molded in place reinforcement inthe manufacture of molded foam seat cushions and backs.3. 12、 that have not been treated, modified orreformulated and exceed a max burn rate of 3.0 in (76 mm) per minas specified by the Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 24-2,must be evaluated for permanency of the materials flame retardantproperties per ESB-M25P3-A according to the acceleratedenvironm
13、ental aging requirements applicable to the basic materialcategory of this particular specification.Any material, portions of components, and composites defined bythis specification that have been treated, modified or reformulatedto conform to Flammability Lot Sampling Plan of FLTM BN 24-2,regardless
14、 of max burn rate, must be evaluated for both permanencyof materials flame retardant properties and changes in mechanical,chemical and physical properties per ESB-M25P3-A applicable to thebasic materials category of this particular specification.3.11 FLAMMABILITY TEST PROGRAMMaterials, portions of c
15、omponents, and composites governed by thisspecification must also comply with the requirements of ES-D3AB-11014-AA.3.12 COLD FLEXIBILITY(FLTM BN 2-1, except mandrel diameter shall be 1/2 in (13 mm)The yarn and yarn bonds of the material shall remain flexible andnot crack when bent 180 at -34 C.3.13
16、SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYMaterial supplied to this specification must be equivalent to thatoriginally approved. Changes in formulation or processing shallnot be made without prior approval as described in SupplierProcedure I-A.4. APPROVAL OF SUPPLIERSSuppliers to this specification must be approved by the affected productengineering office. Procedure for gaining approval of a specificmaterial to a new/existing ES-M specification is contained in SupplierProcedure I-A. Approved new suppliers will be added to the EngineeringMaterials Approved Source List.
