SCOPE The material described by this specification is a flexible, heat treated braided type “E“ glass fiber sleeving, reinforced with stainless
3、 steel wire, and incorporating two or more significantly heavier ends which spiral around the circumference, providing a standoff air gap for superior thermal insulating characteristics. A cross-linked polymeric coating is added to prevent fraying. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released orig
4、inally for use in high temperature areas where good vibration resistance is required, such as an insulator on the EGR tube or check valve tube. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIAL

GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification. 5.1 Basic insulation unaffected indefinitely at 250 C. For shorter periods, resists higher temperature up to 760 C. Color retention good up to 150 C.
