SCOPE These specifications define the performance of tin plating on aluminum alloy parts. 2. APPLICATION These specifications were released originally for coatings used where scuff and wear res
3、istance break-in coatings are required, such as aluminum alloy pistons. ESE-M1P28-A1 replaces ESE-M1P28-A. Engineering drawings specifying ESE-M1P28-A do not require revision to reflect the new suffix designation. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualifi
4、cation of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 COLOR The coating on the finished product shall be of a silver-gray appearance. Note: A heav
5、y dark coating is not acceptable except in non-functional areas such as inside of a piston. 3.3 ADHESION The coating shall not peel or flake. It must be free of blisters on all plated surfaces. 3.4 THICKNESS The coating shall be uniform in thickness and 0.6 - 2.5 m using the microscopic method (ASTM
6、 B 487) or coulometric method (ASTM B 504). 3.5 QUALITY The parts shall be cleaned and rinsed by good commercial practice.
