、M4G195-C1. SCOPEThe material defined by this specification is a one-component thixotropicspreadable silicone rubber based adhesive/sealant. It is capable of beingpumped, metered and distributed into a gasket profile. It curesprogressively inward from the surface at room temperature absorbing waterva

、por in the air as the curing activator. After vulcanization is complete, the tough rubbery solid is odorless.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was released originally for material having general usessuch as formed-in-place gaskets. To obtain good bonds, the surface shouldbe properly solvent cleaned to

、 remove dirt and grease, and some difficultsurfaces may require a primer. Engine applications are formed-in-place oilpan and rocker arm cover gaskets, or other applications where highoperating temperatures up to 204 C may be encountered.3. 5、ALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/orthermal analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification. The IR spectra and thermograms established for initial approval shallconstitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material laboratory.

、 All samples shall produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.2 The curing system covered by this specification is the methoxy curesystem.3.3 SPECIFIC GRAVITY 1.05 +/- .01(ASTM D 792, Method “A“)3.4 EXTRUSION RATETime to dispens

Shelf life of themat erial is approximatley 1 year with storage recommended below 32 C,however, refrigeration is not required.Contai ners should always be

、kept sealed when not in use. After opening, aplu g of cured material may form across the container opening duringstorage. This may easily be removed and does not affect the remainingcontents. The material is thixotropic and should not flow, slump o r sag under its ownweight even when applied to vertical or overhead surfaces.
