2、BBER ESE-M8G84-A NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE: The material defined by this specification is a fine granular cork, nitrile butadiene rubber bonded gasket material. 2. APPLICATION: This specification was released originally for material used as an oil pan gasket. 3. REQUIREMENTS: All tests

3、shall be conducted in accordance with ASTM F 104, Type 2, unless otherwise specified. 3.1 COMPRESSIBILITY 35 - 45% (ASTM F 36, 400 psi (2.8 M Pa) load) Recovery, min 80% 3.2 TENSILE STRENGTH, min 200 psi (1.4 MPa) 3.3 COMPRESSION SET, max 40% (ASTM D 395, Method “A“, 22 h at 70 C) 3.4 FLEXIBILITY FA

7、para 3.5). 3.6.4 Compression Set, max 40% (ASTM D 395, Method “A“, 22 h at 70 C) 3.7 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITY Material supplied to this specification must be equivalent to that originally approved. Changes in formulation or processing shall not be made without prior approval as described in Supplier

8、 Procedure I-A. 4. APPROVAL OF SUPPLIERS: Suppliers to this specification must be approved by the affected product engineering office. Procedure for gaining approval of a specific material to a new/existing ES-M specification is contained in Supplier Procedure I-A. Approved new suppliers will be added to the Engineering Materials Approved Source List. 5.
