2、1 SINTERED IRON - STRUCTURAL (2 - 6% COPPER) ESF-M10A29-A NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material specified by this specification is a sintered iron base powdered metal. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material used for structural components. 3. REQUIREMENTS

3、 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 CHEMICAL COMPOSITION Copper 2.0 - 6.0 Total Carbon 1.5 max Combined Carbon (1) Total Other Elements (2) 3.0 max

4、Iron Remainder (1) Combined Carbon (As per Engineering Drawing). (2) Total Other Elements - This limit includes solid lubricants, impurities and all other additions not otherwise listed. 3.2 DENSITY As per Engineering Drawing (ASTM B 328) 3.3 POROSITY As per Engineering Drawing (ASTM B 328) 3.4 OIL

5、CONTENT As per Engineering Drawing (ASTM B 328) 3.5 IMPREGNATION OIL As per Engineering Drawing 3.6 CRUSHING STRENGTH As per Engineering Drawing The crushing strength shall be determined from actual strength tests on parts which have passed the performance requirements. 3.7 OIL COMPATIBILITY All materials used in the production of these parts shall be compatible with the impregnation oil to be used. Approval of these materials is to be determined by Product Engineering. No changes are to be made without Product Engineering approval.
