2、torque, and variability of driving torque, of self-tapping screws.2. APPLICATIONThi s specification was originally released for material used onself-tapping thread-rolling screws in the anti-lock brake module.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Q
3、uality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 DRIVING TORQUE REDUCTION, min 30
4、 %Test Method: Use 40, M 4.0 x 0.7 self tapping thread-rolling screwssuch as Ford N804008 with zinc and dichromate plating such as FordS36. Coat 20 screws with the torque reducing material per themanufac turers recommendation. The other 20 are to be used aspla ted. Drive the screws into test plates
5、per section 3.3 of Fordspecification ES-21003- S100. The test plates must be clean and freeof oil or grease. Record the driving torque for each screw.Average the peak driving torque for each group of 20 screws.Deter mine the percent reduction in driving torque for the coatedsamples.3.3 SUPPLIERS RES
