SCOPE The material defined by this specification is an oven baked, zinc phosphate treated
3、, Hexavalent Chromium Free (Solution) sealed, electrodeposited organic coating followed by emulsion oil post treatment which provides excellent corrosion protection. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for coating steel parts in the height sensor. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD R
4、EQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 FILM PROPERTIES The coating shall be sufficiently cured at the time of packing to withstand normal handling and shipping withou
5、t significant damage. 3.1.1 Durability Coated bolts and fasteners, when driven, shall show no loss of coating except where the driver contacts the sharp edges. 3.1.2 Thickness The thickness of the coating shall not have an adverse effect on normal installation and removal practices. The nut is acceptable if it can be assembled on a basic diameter bolt, class 3A (inch) or class 6h (metric) and the torque does not exceed the maximum “first on“ torque as shown in either ESS-M1A171-B (inch) Table

9、determined by FLTM AQ 101-01 or AQ 101-02. 3.3.1 Significant Surfaces All surfaces visible on a part as assembled in a vehicle or surfaces which can be the source of corrosion products visible on an assembled vehicle are significant surfaces. Except as noted on the engineering drawing all significan
10、t surfaces shall meet the corrosion and coating weight requirements. Threads, crevices, holes and screwdriver slots or recesses are not to be used for finish thickness measurement or for interpreting corrosion test results, unless they are designated significant surfaces. 3.4 DRY FILM THICKNESS, min
11、 0.0003 in (8 m) 3.5 OILINESS Finished parts should be coated with a water/oil emulsion as the final process. 3.6 CORROSION RESISTANCE 3.6.1 Salt Spray 240 h, no red rust (ASTM B 117) 3.6.2 Adhesion (FLTM BI 103-01) After exposure to 240 h salt spray, the coating shall show no evidence of blistering, peeling or loss of adhesion.
