2、mtemperature curing, urethane adhesive/sealant.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was originally released in order to d efine a sealant foran electronic module used to prevent the ingress of wate r when the assemblyis exposed to splash or drip. Since this application requires minimaladhesion, a primer

3、, which would normally be utilized, is not required.3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools

4、must be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spe

5、ctra and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material laboratory. All samples sha ll produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDI

6、TIONING AND TEST CONDITIONSAll test values indicated herein are based on ma terial conditioned ina control led atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under thesame conditions unless otherwise specified.ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFIC

8、ials at 23 +/- 2 C, a 100 gram mixedsample (48 pbw Part A, 52 pbw Part B) will increase in viscosity to100,000 mP as in a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 8 minutes.Viscosit y is to be measured using Brookfield RVF #7 spindle at 20rpm.3.6 COLORTest Method: Visual Inspection3.6.1 Part A (Isocyanate) Bro

10、paper and solvent wiped using 1.1.1 -trichloroethane. Specimens are to be prepared ut ilizing 13 mm overlapand .13 mm bondline. Adhesive cure is to be 8 hours at 23 +/- 2 C.Samples are to be pull tested at a rate of 2.5 mm/minute.Test Temperature -40 C 23 C 82 C14.0 mPa 8.4 mPa 0.7 mPa3.9 STORAGE ST

11、ABILITYThe adhesive/sealant manufacturer shall test and certify that thematerial has sufficient package stability to mee t the requirements ofsection 3.1 and para 3. 4 when stored in unopened containers and at atemp erature less than 33 C for 6 months from the date of shipmentfrom manufacturer or au

All crit

13、ical areas with respect tothese properties shall be clearly designated on the engineeringdrawing.3.11 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pri or to making any change i

14、n the properties, composition,constr uction, color, processing or labeling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected M

15、aterials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford, apply tothe materials addr

16、essed by this document. The restrictions aredefined in Engineering Material Specification WS S-M99P9999-A1, unlessa different suffix (e.g., A2 or A3) is specified on the engineeringdocument for the application.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval

17、by theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Suppliers desiring approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity its own laboratory rep ort to the specification (test results, notnominal values), the material designation and code number, and testspecim ens for Ford evaluation. Upon approval, the material will be addedto the Engineering Material Approved Source List.
