2、ED FLUOROELASTOMER (FKM) RUBBER, ESF-M96D22-A OXYGENATED AND OXIDIZED FUEL RESISTANT, IN-TANK HIGH PRESSURE FUEL LINE 1. SCOPE This specification defines a reinforced fluoroelastomer (FKM) rubber hose with good resistance to oxygenated (alcohol modified) and oxidized (sour) fuels. 2. APPLICATION Thi
3、s specification was released originally for in-tank fuel lines. The hose is for use where oxygenated and/or low oxidative stability fuels may be encountered. 3. REQUIREMENTS Material specification requirements are to be used for initial qualification of materials. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODU
4、CTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.4 HOSE CONSTRUCTION The hose shall consist of a smooth bore tube of a suitable fluoroelastomer terpolymer reinforced with one ply of braided, knit, spiral or w
5、oven aramid fabric, and covered with a suitable fluoroelastomer rubber. The following tests where possible, shall be performed on finished hoses and/or test specimens cut from them in accordance with ASTM D 3183 (cutting knife procedure preferred). Greater variation in test values can be anticipated
6、 when evaluating materials that are thinner then recommended by an applicable Industry Standard/Test Method. At the end of the aging period, neither the tube, nor
16、 cover shall show signs of cracking or disintegration when bent 180 over a temperature conditioned mandrel. This flexing shall be accomplished within 4 s. The color shall be determined between Purchasing and the supplier. The word gas/fuel and the coding described below shall appear on the outer cover of
26、the hose in contrasting color and repeated at intervals of 60 mm or less. Mandrel cured hose may be coded once per part. Hose shall be identified as follows: a) Supplier identification code. b) Date of manufacture (week, year) and plant designation if supplier has more then one plant producing hoses
27、 to this specification. No space between letters. Mandatory on hoses longer then 80 mm only. c) Ford trademark on hoses longer then 150 mm. d) All of the above printing shall be clearly and legibly printed letters of 4.5 - 6 mm in height and width. When hose is less then 80 mm long, width of letters
28、 may be reduced to 3 mm.
