2、ial defined by this specification is a solvent free, hotapplication (140 +/- 2 C) butyl rubber sealer with polyisobutyleneplasticizer.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was originally released for material used for bondingand sealing of PVC water shield to door inner panel. Due to solubility inorganic

3、 solvents, the material must be applied in a manner that avoids theformation of fluid pockets on top of the material of e.g. dewaxing compoundto Manufacturing Standard U-MB 005-8000.3. 12、s 6 mm, width 8 mm)3.12 HEAT AGEINGSpe cimens, prepared according to 3.7, shall show no evidence ofblistering after exposu re in a mechanical convection oven maintainedat 80 +/- 2 C for 2 weeks.3.13 SUBSTANCE CONTROLLegal, health, safety a nd environmental constraints may apply to themate rials whic

13、h are submitted for approval to this specification.Refer to Engineering Material Specification SK-M99P9999-A.3.14 QUALITYThe material shall be of uniform quality free from foreign materialand properties detrimental to normal production use.3.15 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this

14、specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pri or to making any change in the properties, composition,constr uction, color, processing or labeling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchc

15、hange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity of the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new

17、n WSS-M99P9999-A1.4. APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval by theresp onsible Materials Engineering activity. Suppliers desiring approvalof thei r materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Material

18、s Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualified and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the requirements of this sp

19、ecification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtes t specimens for Ford evaluation. Fords engineering approval of amateri al will be based on its performance to this specification and on anassessment of suitability for intended processes and/or applicati

20、ons. Uponapprov al, the material will be added to the Engineering Material ApprovedSource List.5.
