SCOPEThe materi al def

2、ined by this specification is a one pack waterborne matbaking e namel with or without textured structure for painting of plasticsubstrates at 80 C baking temperature.2. APPLICATIONThis specification was original ly released for a material used as one coattopcoat for painting of smooth or grained pla

3、stic bumpers made of modifiedpolycarbonate (PC).3. REQUIREMENTS3.1 STATISTICAL PROCESSSupplie rs must conform to the requirements of Ford Quality SystemStand ard Q-101. A mutually acceptable Control Plan as describedtherein is required for material/source approval. Appropriatestatist ical tools must

4、 be used to analyze process/product data sothat variation in the final product is continuously reduced.3.2 INFRARED SPECTROPHOTOMETRY AND/OR THERMAL ANALYSISFord Motor Company, at its option, may conduct infrared and/ortherma l analysis of material/parts supplied to this specification.The IR spectra

5、 and thermograms established for i nitial approval shallconst itute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at thedesignated material laboratory. All samples sha ll produce IR spectraand thermograms that correspond to the reference standard when testedunder the same conditions.3.3 CONDITION

6、INGAll test values indicated herein are based on ma terial conditioned ina control led atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relativehumidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under thesame conditions unless otherwise specified.3.4 COMPOSITION3.4.1 Resin: Water dispersed Acrylic o

8、yviscosity of 35 s according to para 3.5.4.3.5.2 Density see Initial Sample +/- 0.05 g/mL(ASTM D 1475)3.5.3 Viscosity as supplied see Initial Sample +/- 5 s (FLTM BI 111-01)3.5.4 Spray Viscosity as specified by the supplier (FLTM BI 111-01, FC #4)The material can be reduced with deionized water.3.5.

9、5 Organic Solvent Content, max 5 %The content of organic solvents is defined as:Weight-% of organic solvents as spray viscosity.3.5.6 Dry Hiding Power, max. 25 um(FLTM BI 158-01)3.5.7 Storage Stability: 90 daysDuri ng a storage of 90 days between 5 and 32 C temperaturethe m aterial as supplied shall

After the storage the material must pass allspecification requirements.3.6 PREPARATION OF TEST PANELS3.6.1 SubstrateABS, Polycarbonate, Polypropylene, etc. as specified onEngineering Drawing.Note: PP/EPDM plastics must either be primed with anadhesion primer or pret

11、 reated (flame process, etc.) prior topainting to provide sufficient paint adhesion.3.6.2 Plastic PreparationThe surface to be painted shall be cleaned by an acceptablepr ocess, e.g. power wash, to remove mold releasing agents,fingerprints, oils, dirt and moisture.ENGINEERING MATERIAL SPECIFICATIONE

12、SK-M62J19-AWP 3948-b Page 3 of 4 3.6.3 Topcoat applicationDry film thickness: 25 - 35 micrometre;Flash off time: 3 minutes;Baking: 20 minutes at 80 C (Object temperature).3.6.4 Ageing:Test panels prepared under this specification shall be agedfor at least 72 h at 23 +/- 2 C or 16 h at 43 +/- 2 C bef

13、oretesting for resistance properties.3.7 APPEARANCECol our, gloss, grain and surface finish shall match master TrimSample and/or Master Appearance Sample as approved by Design.3.7.1 Colour see MAS - Panel(FLTM BI 109-01)3.7.2 Gloss and TextureVisual matching with approved MAS Panel.3.8 RESISTANCE PR

14、OPERTIESTest Panels and painted plastic parts prepared according to thisspecification shall meet all requirements of performancespecifications WSK-M2P145-A and WSK-M2P143-A.3.9 QUALITYThe topcoat must be ada ptable for application in accordance with theappropriate Ford Motor Company Process Specific

15、ation.The topcoat must be compatible with all related materials.3.10 SUPPLIERS RESPONSIBILITYAll materials supplied to this specification must be equivalent inal l characteristics to the material upon which approval wasoriginally granted.Pr ior to making any changes in the properties, composition,co

16、 nstruction, color, processing or labelling of the materialorig inally approved under this specification, whether or not suchchange s affect the materials ability to meet the specificationrequir ements, the Supplier shall notify Purchasing, Toxicology andthe affected Materials Engineering activity o

17、f the proposed changesand obtain the written approval of the Materials Engineeringactivity. Test data, t est samples and a new code identification areto be submitted with the request.Substance restrictions imposed by law, regulations or Ford apply tothe materials addressed by this document. The rest

APPROVAL OF MATERIALSMat erials defined by this specification must have prior approval of theresponsible Materials Engineeri ng activity. Supplier desiring

19、 approval ofthe ir materials shall first obtain an expression of interest from theaffec ted Purchasing, Design and Materials Engineering activity. Uponrequest, the Supplier shall submit to the affected Materials Engineeringactivity a completed copy of their laboratory test reports, signed by aqualif

20、ied and authorized representative of the test faci lity, demonstratingful l compliance with all the requirements of this specification (testresults, not nominal values), the material designation a nd code number, andtest s pecimens for Ford evaluation. In addition to meet the requirementsof thi s sp

21、ecification, the materials will be assessed for suitability forintended applications as part o f the approval process. Upon approval, thematerial will be added to the Engineering Material Approved Source List.5. GENERAL INFORMATIONThe information given below is provided for assistance and clarificat

22、ionand does not represent requirement(s) to this specification.5.1 DENSITY OF THE DRY FILM see Initial Sample +/- 0,05 kg/L(FLTM BI 154-02)5.2 MATERIAL REFERENCEAll related materials u sed for approval of topcoat according to thisspec ification, e.g. plastic substrates as well as the applicationparameter shall be noted in the Initial Sample R eport of the topcoat.
