2、PRIMER, POWDER, STEEL, ALUMINUM, EC ESK-M70J7-A NOT TO BE USED FOR NEW DESIGN 1. SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a powder primer. It is formulated for maximum surface quality and hold-out properties after baking. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for a mat
3、erial used as a primer on Zn-phosphated steel, chromated aluminum and on EC surfaces. The primer is used under solid color and two coat metallic topcoats and is suitable for electrostatic and pneumatic spray application. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material sup
4、pliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.2 COMPOSITION 3.2.1 Vehicle Powder Combination of epoxy and polyester resins, heat curing. 3.2.2 Pigments Inert pigments and fillers to obtain the desired color and properties. 7、RATION OF TEST PANELS 3.4.1 Three Coatings Substrate: Baked EC undercoat The Electrocoat shall not be sanded. For preparation of test panels, see FLTM BI 103-02, Method B b. 9、wo coat metallic: S-M32J110-C/SK-M32J9553-A 3.4.3 Ageing The test panels shall be aged for 72 hours at room temperature prior to testing. 3.5 DRY FILM PROPERTIES 3.5.1 Dry Film Thickness 55 +/- 5 micrometre (FLTM BI 117-01) 3.5.2 Gloss 95 +/- 5 (FLTM BI 110-01, 60 glossmeter) 3.5.3 Sanding After bak
10、ing, the primer is to be water sanded by hand without clogging the paper (No. 400) and with minimum sanding scratches. The water may not leave any marks on the surface. 11、 be no evidence of dulling or strike in or difference in gloss when the top coat is applied to sanded and unsanded primer. Sanding scratches shall be hardly visible. 3.6 RESISTANCE PROPERTIES 3.6.1 Adhesion No chipping (FLTM BI 106-01, Method B) a) Top coat to unsanded primer. b) Primer to unsanded

13、o more than 4 mm rust creepage and loss of adhesion from a scratch scribed to the bare metal. 3.6.5 Water Immersion Test, min 240 h (FLTM BI 104-01) No blistering, no loss of adhesion, no loss of gloss accepted. 3.6.6 Florida Exposure 12 months (FLTM BI 160-01) Panels with a selection of affected to
14、pcoats (bright, medium bright and dark, metallic and non-metallic) shall be exposed in the area of Miami, Florida, 5 facing south. After the exposure, the surface shall show neither blistering nor peeling nor any other defects caused by the primer. 3.6.6.1 Condensing Humidity Test 48 h (ASTM D 2247) After evaluation, the Florida exposed panels have to be tested in Condensing Humidity Test. No blistering. 3.6.6.2 Adhesion No chipping (FLTM BI 106-01, Method B) Adhesion shall be performed on test panels from para 3.6.6.1, after conditioning for 24 hours at room temperature.
