SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a cleaner polish containing a petroleum distillate solvent with silicones, emulsifiers, polishing abrasives and water. 2. APPLICATION This specification was released originally for material

3、used as a cleaner polish for new cars, but is suitable for all types of automotive painted surfaces. 3. REQUIREMENTS 3.1 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A).

4、3.2 The material must be of a liquid nature and easily shake to an emulsion. It must not pack hard at the bottom of the container during storage. 3.3 It must not contain any material detrimental to the finish as determined by placing a spot of the cleaner on enameled, varnished or lacquered surfaces

5、 and allowing to remain for 24 hours at room temperature, 23 +/- 2 C. After removing, the cleaner polish must not leave any stain or cause bleaching. 3.4 The abrasive shall be sufficiently graded so that the cleaner polish shall be speedy in action without removing excessive amount of color. 3.5 Any

8、ded. 3.11.2 Silicone Fluid, wt. min 10.0% 3.12 VOLATILES, wt. max 81.5% 3.12.1 Water, wt. max 62.0% (K.F.R. Method) 3.12.2 Solvent, wt. min 15.5% 3.12.3 Type Petroleum Distillate 3.13 ASH, 760 C, wt. max 15.3% 3.14 LABELING 3.14.1 Provisions of this specification are applicable when material is used

9、 according to labeling directions. Any precautions involved in the use of the material must be clearly stated on the product label. 3.14.2 The label(s) for the material(s) must comply to the Federal Hazardous Substances Act and all other provisions under the Consumer Product Safety Commission and al

10、l other applicable federal, state and local regulations. Supplier shall furnish the affected product engineering office with the label(s). 3.14.3 Supplier shall furnish certification that the composition of his product has been examined and that the label recommended is in compliance with the Federa

11、l Hazardous Substances Act and all other provisions under the Consumer Product Safety Commission. Completed Material Health and Safety Data Sheets and Hazardous Substances Data Sheets must be submitted by the supplier to the Ford Motor Company toxicologist. 3.14.4 If applicable, supplier shall furni

12、sh a copy of the laboratory report wherein the product was evaluated under the procedures required by the Federal Hazardous Substances Act. 3.14.5 Supplier must furnish detailed application instructions and specific usage information for container labels. This portion of the label information must b

13、e approved by the affected product engineering office. 3.14.6 If the label submitted by the supplier contains any advertising claims, suitable corroborative testing data must also be furnished. 14、 2002, Ford Global Technologies, Inc. 3.15 MARKING Containers and cartons must be marked with a code indicating source and compounding date of the material. Supplier must furnish this code to the affected product engineering office. Container marking may be waived if approved in writing by the affec

15、ted product engineering office. 3.16 The test report data furnished by the supplier showing compliance with this specification shall give the specific test methods followed and shall give specific answers to generalized requirements. 3.17 Generally accepted test methods (American Society for Testing

16、 and Materials, Society of Automotive Engineers and Ford Laboratory Test Methods are preferred) and procedures should be followed where such methods are known, otherwise the methods of evaluation should be explained in detail. 4. GENERAL INFORMATION The information given below is provided for clarification and assistance in meeting the requirements of this specification 4.1 Comparative performance data ratings utilizing the requirements outlined above, comparing the proposed material(s) to presently marketed Ford Motor Company products, are encouraged.
