SCOPE The material defined by this specification is a nitrile butadiene rubber compounded specifically for low temperature resistance, without sacrificing other desirable properties. 2. APPLICATION
3、This specification was released originally for material used in power steering sector shaft seals. 3. REQUIREMENTS Testing frequency for each requirement shall be an agreement between supplier quality assurance, supplier, and affected design and materials engineering group. 3.0 STANDARD REQUIREMENTS
4、 FOR PRODUCTION MATERIALS Material suppliers and part producers must conform to the Companys Standard Requirements For Production Materials (WSS-M99P1111-A). 3.1 RAW MATERIAL 3.1.1 Oscillating Disk Rheometer (ASTM D 2084) The compound must have a curve that corresponds to the master curve of the mat
5、erial approved for use that is on file in the Suppliers Quality Control Office and the affected product engineering materials office. Utilizing the established operating parameters, the following ranges must be maintained. ML - minimum torque +/- 3.5 lb in (+/- 0.4 N.m) MHF- maximum torque +/- 12.0

7、rd Global Technologies, LLC Page 2 of 3 3.2.3 Thermal Analysis and Pyrolytic Gas Chromatography Ford Motor Company, at its option, may conduct pyrolytic gas chromatography and thermogravimetric and differential thermal analysis of materials/parts supplied to this specification. The curves establishe
8、d for initial approval shall constitute the reference standard and shall be kept on file at Central Laboratory. All samples shall produce curves that correspond to the reference standard when tested under the same conditions as those specified on the master curve. 3.2.4 Any additional requirements a
9、pplicable to specific parts shall be specified on the engineering drawings or in a separate engineering specification identified on the drawing. 3.3 INITIAL QUALIFICATION These tests are to be conducted on slab stock by all material suppliers prior to source approval and at least once every 6 months
