2、 rusting of body sheet metal. Apparatus Required Oven Mechanical convection maintained at 120 +/- 2 “C. Water Bath Able to accommodate 254 x 254 mm and containing tap water at 23 +/- 2 “C. Wooden Rack Solid mahogany rack to hold test panels. See drawing for dimensions. Spray Equipment For FLTM BI 10

Note: The surface of the panels shall show no rust when examined using not less than a 4 power magnifying glass before starting test

5、 Race Street Philadelphia, PA 191 03 Conditioning and Test Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 “C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless othe

6、rwise specified. Test Procedure 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. Clean the steel panels with a suitable solvent such as M.E.K. or equivalent to remove all traces of rust proofing grease and oil and air dry. Cut two 203 x 203 mm test specimens from each sample of landau top material. Spray between 1 .I and 1.

7、6 grams (dry weight) of current production adhesive uniformly to the back of the landau material to be tested and let dry a minimum of 20 minutes in a conditioned atmosphere, 23 +/- 2 “C and 50 +/-5 % relative humidity. Spray between 1.7 and 2.5 grams (dry weight) of the same adhesive (as in para #3

8、) uniformly to the steel panels. After 30 seconds bond the precoated side of the landau top material to the center of the adhesive coated side of the steel panel by applying finger pressure uniformly over the vinyl surface. Allow the assembly to air dry a minimum of 16 h in a controlled atmosphere o

9、f 23 +/- 2 “C and relative humidity of 50 +/- 5 %. Place the test panels, vinyl side up, in a horizontal position in the wooden rack. Place the rack with the panels into the oven for 1 O minutes with temperature at 120 +/- 2 “C. Remove the rack with the test panels from the oven and within one minut

10、e immerse the test panels in water at 23 +/- 2 “C for two minutes. Have test panels in a horizontal position during immersion. Remove the rack with the test panels from the water and allow to dry 48 hours at 23 +/- 2 “C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity. Page 2 of 4 Copynght02001, Ford Global Technol

After testing, remove the landau top material from the metal panels and inspect for any sign of rusting. The metal panel shall be compared visually with the photographic reference standards and ass

12、igned a number rating for degree of rusting (Type 1) according to ASTM D 61 O. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly. Each party is responsible for determining proper use and handling in its facilities.
