4、e based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +/- 2 C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. 5、s, Inc. Procedure 1. Balance the instrument by turning the counter weight at the rear until the upper plate is 1/2 inch from the surface of the lower plate. Care should be taken not to jar instrument severely after balancing as this will change counter weight setting. 2. Apply 1/2 lb weight to the u
6、pper platen and leave through entire test. 3. Adjust dial indicator to zero with platens in contact. 4. Place 12 by 12 inch sample of padding material over lower platen of instrument. If material appears to be of different densities, the higher density should be placed on the bottom. If material has
7、 attached sheeting or resinated surface, the sheeting or resinated surface should be placed on top. 5. Lower upper platen with weight in place onto sample. The platen should not be dropped on the material abruptly. The scale reading of the material should be made within 10 s after applying weight. R
8、eport test results as required by the material specification. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly.
