3、 Germany Scuffhead The special Scuffhead required for this test (see Figure 1) is designed to replace the wooden cylindrical finger provided with the Crockmeter machine. Care must be taken to mount and firmly hold the Scuffhead blade perpendicular to the stroke of the machine. Conditioning and Test
4、Conditions All test values indicated herein are based on material conditioned in a controlled atmosphere of 23 +I- 2 “C and 50 +/- 5 % relative humidity for not less than 24 h prior to testing and tested under the same conditions unless otherwise specified. Prepare test specimens of 20 mm minimum width and where possible of 150 mm minimum length, so that the maximum stroke of the Crockmeter can be employed. Shorter lengths of speci
6、men may be used providing there is at least 10 mm of specimen in excess of the stroke length applied. 2. Position and secure the specimen on the support fixture so that the area to be evaluated is aligned with the stroke of the Scuffhead. 3. Adjust the Crockmeter stroke to the maximum length allowed
7、 bj the test specimen and scuff the specimen for the number of cycles required by the Engineering Materials Specification. Evaluation Remove specimen and assess according to the Engineering Materials Specification requirements. Do not include the last 6 mm at either end of the scuffed area in the ev
8、aluation. Note: When mounting foam backed specimens, depth of foam in excess of 7 mm must be removed unless otherwise indicated by the Engineering Materials Specification. The foam must be cut to provide as near as possible a horizontal level surface for the Scufhead to traverse. Chemicals, material
