Mount a section of trim welt 40 mm in length, covered with two layers of duck cloth and wrap in longitudinal direction - in the edge abrasion clamp (see Figure 1). Copyng

Mount the assembly with the longer side parallel to the stroke direction of the abrasion head and tighten it with the ring clamp and lock the rotary motion pawl, avoiding any abrasive dust contamination. 3. Mount a hot s
6、tamped specimen under the abradant plate with the longer side or with its largest area parallel to the stroke direction. Carry out the test on a flat area of the specimen in order to obtain a smooth contact to the abradant. Load specimen with a total weight-force of 8.90 N. This total weight-force c
7、onsists of weight of specimen clamp, fastening screws, test specimen and additional weight. 4. Lower the abradant plate onto the abradant and abrade for the required number of cycles as stated in the relevant Material Specification. Note: If the abrasion test cannot be carried out on the actual part
8、 a hot stamped plane sample of minimum 10 x 60 mm size has to be tested for the Initial Laboratory Sample Report. Test panels shall be processed according to production conditions using the released base materials. Evaluation Examine for evidence of wear-through after the required abrasive cycles an
9、d compare with the master sample approved by the Product Engineering Materials Laboratory. Chemicals, materials, parts, and equipment referenced in this document must be used and handled properly.
